This latest update focuses on optimisation, with a few mods removed - and a few more added, hopefully with less impact. It can eat quite a bit of RAM as a stand-alone single player world, but a server can ease that load considerably. Paring dowqn client-side mods and resource packs can go a long way to reducing the load too.
Many mods have been updated, including the Field Guide and it's dependencies, which are a source of much entertainment. It is great fun adding your own notes on the flora and fauna of the server as you roam about the gaff with your spyglass.
So, what's New? We ADDED:
- NERB (Not Enough Recipe Books) , to try to cut the impact it has on loading.
- (Lets Do) Herbal Brews, (to give us coffee and tea, instead of Farmers Respite)
- Create Repair + Mixin Booster (to fix up some create bugs and boost performance)
- Yet Another Config Lib (this fixed problems with Immersive Overlays)
- Load My F***ing Tags, hopefully resolving IDAS Swamp Village broken tags
- Forge 47.4.20, the latest release for this Minecraft version.
What was REMOVED?
* - Mowzies Mobs, due to persistent mad chicken attacks, too many masks.
* - Oceans Enhancements, because 400 seahorses is too many.
* - Oceans Delight, for a lack of real use adding a limited selection of meals.
* - Stellar View, because resource packs can do an equivalent job. Still optional.
*- Archaeology Ruins, as we have a lot already on the map and just don't dig 'em.
* - Clockwork, as it has a signifiant impact and has a steep learning curve. It hasn;t been used much at all on our server, but it does work with the pack if you want to re-enable it (and throw it more RAM).
* - Farmers Respite, with horribly broken coffee. Nice tea bushes but not enough.
* - No NV Flashing, which actually made it too bright all the time.
What mods are OPTIONAL? These ones can be removed without harming the core of the pack, and remain compatible with server play. Optimisation mods are listed separately at the end, as keeping them is more practical.
- All of the Resource Packs. Fresh Animations and it's dependents have the biggest impact, alongside the EMF/ETF mods that they require.
