Description
What is RamanCraft?
RamanCraft is a labor of love that aims to get servers invested in the mods we use by encouraging players to complete advancements through associated quests. Players get rewards from experience to useful items to coins they can use in the store. There is a vending function in which you can set up any sort of exchange you want. Vendor machines can be purchased in the security/store shop or crafted by hand if you so choose. You can also recruit companions or villagers or villager companions, start a MineColonies colony, travel via waystone, experience true invisibility through which mobs and other players won't be able to see you, call your horse, locate your corpse with all of your lost gear(use 'u' or /deathhistory <name>), call a tamed horse, sneak cut down a tree, and allegedly you can find bounty posts in villages, but I was never able to find that. Beyond that, RamanCraft is largely a Vanilla+ experience with roughly 74% of mods being dedicated to performance boosting, crafting additions, biome/mob/structure additions, farming, and building materials. RamanCraft is true to the Minecraft experience with minor RPG elements.
What makes RamanCraft different from other modpacks?
Our claim to fame is our unique shop system which utilizes FTB Quests to work a functional shop you could use even in a single player world. The shop will update with patrons who contribute to my Patreon through new Modpack versions, but the prices will be largely unaffected. RamanCraft has an impressive array of quests following advancements made by mod creators that give specially curated rewards to users for completing them. We also boast one of the largest pools of mobs and monsters of any modpack publicly available. This is achieved through the carefully constructed list of performance boosting mods which allow for unique performance options and a heavier load of assets with fewer performance issues.
Magic is a difficult concept to work with because mod authors vary in how powerful it can be leading to some game breaking features. Because of this, Ramancraft does not embrace new magical features excluding the magical properties of curios, but instead embraces the magical elements already present in the game itself; that being enchanting. With that in mind, RamanCraft is more focused on industrialization and socialization, giving you the ability to automate basic actions through a few options: start a minecolonies colony, hire villagers to work or fight for you, or program computers to do the same using a real coding language. Finally I would like to shout out a few mods that I never encountered in all the modded servers I ever played. Better Invisibility: gives invisibility a purpose. Players and mobs alike won't see you. Camera Mod: Take pictures in game and post them on your walls. Eric's Retail: Open a store where you can sell whatever you want in exchange for whatever you want. It's really up to you! Security Craft: Defend your base with advanced security resources including cameras, keycards, turrets, and item detectors. Sisser: Allow a creeper's explosion to deal damage without actually breaking blocks. It's a small gift considering how difficult this game can be. Last but not least, Tax Free Levels (Fabric/Forge): In vanilla Minecraft one flaw has never been addressed and modpacks tend to forget about this. The more levels you have, the more expensive enchanting ends up being...until now. Now, whether you're level 30 or level 300 enchanting costs the same amount of experience points instead of the same amount of experience levels. All of those things are what makes RamanCraft so special.
Note: Controller Support, Modern Loading Screen, Nekos Enchanted Books, and Oculus are all client side. If you plan on using these mods on a server, it will not function with these mods in the server file.
Issues
If you experience any issues let me know in the comments and I will do my best to fix them or address them. I had to learn how to work FTB Quests myself because the user guide is terrible, and there is not a good English guide on YouTube. As a result this process ended up taking months longer than it needed to.
