Down with the nightmare (formerly known as "project evolved brutalism") is a total conversion modpack designed around a modern post apocalyptic world where your main enemies will be: an ever growing fungal entity and evolved arachnids and insects.
the point of the modpack is to lean into a semi realistic, horror action focused experience that aims primarily on brutal & visceral fights, exploring broken down and abandoned cities thanks to an extended player movement and reworking most of the vanilla mechanics into something more dynamic and interesting to play without being too annoying to deal with (aka bar management mods), main mechanics feature setting mobs on fire if you have torches equipped, caves being harder to explore due to sudden cave ins and earthquakes, along removing stuff like the enchanting table, forcing players to explore for enchantments and artifacts and doing most of the work trough anvil, that also means transfering enchantments between items and books, explosions causing shrapnel to fly around and making blocks move too, along many other tweaks and removals of vanilla and modded features alike.
the modpack was developed to be modular, it features content for both singleplayer and multiplayer and can be customized in case you want to remove, edit or add mods on your own if you want to.
in case you want to know more there's a featured in Guideline section upon opening the game and reaching the title screen, where a more detailed wall of text will be presented.
my aim with this project is to transform minecraft all together into something far more cohesive (and possibly more consistent) and new as well, down to a new menu screen and possibly some original content from me as well.
feedback and help is appreciated, especially as a solo dev, I currently got no ways of being contacted but if you really want to then feel free to leave some comments.
why should you play this Modpack and not others that do exactly the same thing this one does? that's the thing, you either play it cause you think it's interesting or you don't and go play something else, this is a passion project after all and I'm not interested in gaining money outta this thing.
(DO NOT PLAY THE MODPACK IF YOURE ARACHNOPHOBIC, ARE PRONE TO SEIZURES OR YOU'RE GENERALLY FAINT OF HEART)
