Description
A few quick things to note: This modpack includes many mods, but the ones that will be most influential to the gameplay are Scape and Run: Parasites, Galacticraft, HBM's Nuclear Tech, and Techguns. Keep reading, because you will (most likely) regret it if you don't.
Scape and Run: Parasites is probably the biggest mod in terms of survival. In this mod there is a zombie-like infection on the loose in the Overworld (and maybe elsewhere too). It is VERY dangerous if kept uncontained, and if uncontrolled, it will absolutely wreck your world. The mechanic that determines how screwed your world is is called the evolution mechanic. Basically, there are 9 phases of evolution, going from 0-8. Phase 0 is what the world starts off with and 8 is what the world ends with. For example, if you walk outside in phase 0, your world will look like a normal Minecraft world, with the exception of a few buglins roaming around. If you go outside in phase 8, then you approximately have 3 seconds to go outside, before an assimilated enderman alerts literally every parasite in a 5-mile radius where your location is, and before you can rush inside of your home, it's being eaten by a giant monstrosity covered in tentacles like it's straight out of an H. P. Lovecraft novel. How you tell what phase it is can be pretty much a given, because every time a new phase happens, a little creepy noise will play (on par with cave sounds, so be prepared), and there will be a number in chat. If you happen to have the memory of a goldfish, you can craft a Bloody Clock, and right clicking it will tell you what level of screwedness your world is in. Also, parasites can adapt to damage, and what this means is that when a parasite takes damage (in later evolution phases), it will try to adapt to it. If a parasite is flashing green instead of red, it means that the parasite is adapting to the damage, making it take less. If it flashes purple, it means that the parasite has adapted to its fullest potential, in some cases making it immune to damage. Damage types include what weapon the player is using, different environmental damage, or a certain type of entity. This means that you should never only have one way to kill parasites on hand at all times. P.S: Please, for the love of me, don't run out in front of assimilated endermen, trust me, they are way too unbalanced.
Techguns is another big mod, one which adds many new weapons, structures, and enemies to kill (and be killed by, yay!). This mod adds over 20 new weapons, not only limited to guns. This mod can be essential to surviving parasites late-game, but it can also be a nuisance early-game, because enemies with guns do a lot of damage, but they can also shoot through shields, making early-game encounters a lot more difficult.
HBM's Nuclear Tech is a mod that adds a lot of nuclear tech to the game. The mod adds many new items, like turrets, bombs, missiles, reactors, nukes, and other things (I literally can't describe everything, or else this would be way too long, since this mod has an insane amount of content that very few mods come close to adding). The point of this mod is to have lots of explosives to throw (not literally, it's probably a bad idea) at your enemies. It is worth mentioning that with this mod installed, you should be extremely careful when dealing with radioactive materials, as well as missiles, reactors, and especially nukes, because even though that they are effective at melting parasites, they're equally effective at melting you.
Galacticraft is a mod that I installed as a last resort mod, for when your world eventually becomes riddled with parasites and radioactive craters. When you feel that the level of destruction that had ensued on your world is acceptable, you can leave it all behind and go elsewhere, like outer space. This mod lets you explore most of the parts of solar system, including the asteroid belt. Along with planets, there's cheese, which is very worth mentioning, as it is found on the moon beneath the lunar soil. And if you don't need to leave the world behind, you can always do other things with planets such as my favorite, being resource over-exploitation. Although there are many pros to this strategy of exploring the heavens, cons might be as well. Q= If so than what are they? A= You will most likely suffocate and die. So, make sure to close your airlocks, and safe travels!
Other things worth mentioning are that there are other mods that I have installed, like optimization mods, and customization mods (seriously, the setup for the custom main menu took HOURS to make, let alone the custom options menu background, and not even mentioning making the logo myself using only Paint.net, as I am too broke to afford photoshop). Make sure to allocate additional memory to your installation, and also installing OptiFine would help a lot with performance and visuals. The custom main menu works best with the 'large' gui scale. And since you'll probably die a lot, I added custom death messages to Enhanced Visuals, you're welcome. And that's it for now. Until we meet again! - BigXplosion, A.K.A Boiber
