v 1.1.8 Changelog

Quest Fixes

  • Hand of Ender quest now requires Mana Pearl quest, not the other way around.
  • Steel quest logic changed to be either/or, to match intention and quest description. Also changed to award you one of two steel rods, instead of a wire, to entice people to complete it even if they don't understand how important unlocking the molten steel quest will be.
  • Metals and Gems quests all updated to correctly require 1 ingot OR 9 nuggets, and to clearly say so in the instructions, for consistency. They were previously a little all over the place.
  • Two steel quests were merged into one and removed from the iron quest line.
  • End Portal frame quest now correctly says 'twelve' instead of 'nine' end portal frame blocks.
  • More star-related End Portal Frames added as quest rewards.
  • Respiration quest now requires only one book, not all three.
  • Improved quest descriptions for gate pearl quests. Fixed text for Adamant and Griseous Boss quests.
  • Budew Egg's sp_atk IV fixed.
  • Razor Fang Quest added
  • Two Ribbon Quests corrected to consume items.
  • Added some text to end's delight quests.
  • Bubble Coral Block added to defeating Drowned Lugia Quest
  • Changed rewards for high tier non-hatchable dragon egg-based food quests. Each now gives you a baby dragon pokemon.

Quest Additions

  • Added a Sythian Stalk Quest to gold production, as a tip for midgame gold production.
  • 'Peaceful' quest taunts players to figure out how to do Pokemon battles safely in the Nether, or invites them to change the difficulty.
  • Added quests for a few top tier foods including Stuffed Pumpkin and Honey Glazed Ham
  • Charcadet evolution item quest added.

Recipe Tweaks

  • Added recipes for Marble that are a little difficult to pull off in the early game (and mostly just serve as a way to recycle some junk) but become more feasible after you've visited the nether.
  • Pure Daisy can now clean Sooty Marble
  • Recipes for molten metal added to Runic Altar that immitate questbook recipes, so people who want to play by JEI alone can see how to progress.

Recipe Fixes

  • Old Running boots recipe fixed so they no longer recursively requires old running boots.

Drops Tweaks

  • Reduced Palkia/Giratina/Dialga drops of their orbs because it conflicts with mechanics for how you are meant to obtain new ones.
  • More Pokemon now drop Marble and Sooty Marble, although not in as high quantities as Alolan Geodude.
  • Starmie's drowned form now has its own drop table. It's metal drops have been changed to uranium and are guarenteed.
  • Erroneous 'Wave Plate' drop changed to proper 'Splash Plate' drop for Azelf, Manaphy, and Palkia.

Spawn Fixes

  • Fixed Uxie and Azelf spawning in the wrong dimensions.
  • Dacite Cobblestone is now a spawnable block (indoors/manmade, like other cobblestones)
  • Geodude spawn conditions have been tweaked again. Now if you use Dacite, Dacite Cobblestone, or Raw Marble as your base block, the only Geodude type that will spawn on it will be Alolan. This should help create a more reliable Marble farm.
  • Dudunsparce's vanilla spawning rule was updated to not apply to the ghostly overworld.
  • Claydoll and Baltoy properly spawn in underground water (Under Water -> Underground Water)
  • Trash burmy properly spawns indoors when raining (Indoor -> Indoors)
  • Swablu spawns properly on tree tops (Treetop -> Tree Top)

Misc Tweaks

  • Junk fishing loot table tweaked to make better junk spawn more often and worse junk spawn less often.
  • Fishing tables now allow you to loot water stones and shards, old rods, and a number of other small items like pokeballs.
  • Nutritional Balance nutrients hard-coded in to get around known bugs. Food should now be much more nutritious.

Known Bugs

  • Something is wrong with Nutritional Balance's ability to calculate nutrition for each food item, and we haven't diagnosed the cause. Instead, we'd implemented a workaround where we hard-coded in all the food items in the game. Although tedious, messy, and imperfect, it at least restores nutrition to most in-game food.
  • Molten metal quests produce too much molten metal. For now, that's fine. It's slated for a revisit in future builds. Dupe your steel while you still can ;)
  • We still have not been able to get Default Options working, so save out your options.txt before upgrading!

Helpful Development Notes

  • Curseforge saves export settings for modpacks these days, which is helpful, because you don't have to remember everything from scratch, but which can also be unhelpful because it remembers the subfolder hierarchy and may fail to recognize new folders/files and export them. This is why, for example, the 'forage guide' image was missing in v.1.1.7.
