Supported Versions

  • 1.16.5

Versioning Information

Release Status

  • Modpack is now in Beta
  • Gameplace arc has clear beginning, middle, and end stages and is functionally complete
  • Player wins by finally ascending to Ultra Space and fighting 'god'

Minecraft Version

  • Modpack has been rewritten from the bottom up for 1.16.5
  • The incomplete 1.12 version is no longer supported and has been discontinued
  • A 1.20 version is not feasible at this time because too few mods have made the transition to 1.20.

Future Goals

  • Tweak/improve quest rewards
  • Add additional combat challenges
  • Add gyms/trainers/elite Pokemon Battles, including double battles
  • Improve mod integration
  • Add (and appropriately gate) more end-game content (RFTools/Thermal)
  • Improve access to more Legendary Pokemon
  • More ghostly/appropriate Pixelmon skins/palettes

Content Information

This 1.16.5 version finally 'finished' the vision for the modpack that I had for 1.12

Structural Changes from 1.12

Datapacks

With the release of datapacks in 1.14, modpack building got hella easier. Most things I previously had to do with Crafttweaker and Zenscript are now doable with datapacks. This has led to a generalized improvement in the quality of the pack and the richness of the content.

Functions

With the release of functions and predicates in 1.13 I've eliminated the need for command blocks operating on a central island

CraftTweaker

Bulk Recipes: CraftTweaker is still leveraged to create (and remove) a large number of predictable, procedural recipes like recipes for ingots, nuggets, gears, etc.

Interaction Scripts: CraftTweaker has been able to add scripts to items to give them additional interactions, which how we were able to get around and solve a number of bugs in Pixelmon (notably the lava/water stone tools bug)

ContentTweaker

ContentTweaker is still used to ensure all metals have an ingot/nugget/gear/etc form, but now also creates different fluids to facilitate cauldron brewing, especially with pixelmon medicines.
