Back Story:

Created way back in 12/18/19 and it was a very limited run only really played by myself it is one of about 40 mod packs I made, and just dropped... The main part/reason the mod pack was made was due to the "Scape and Run: Parasite", and trying to make a horror/fear of the unknown by using a form of a good shader pack, with a mod that made "dark" DARK... Adding decent visuals with a rather basic ending goal... The mod pack was dropped after only having around 100~ mods finely tuned due to the lack of creative vision.. so I packed it into .zip and left it alone... Alone by itself without adding anything else was a good creative idea with a solid foundation, but due to having a rather poor end goal I couldn't see the finishing on the mod pack...

 

DESCRIPTION:

Parasite and Run is the "run of the mill" that makes Minecraft harder, and trying to make you survive...

You start off with these items

 

Flint Knife
Wooden Tower Shield
Totem of Undying
Totem of Recalling

 

It might seem very arbitrary to give you such items when you first spawn in, but the mission of this modpack is to think you have one life, The modpack is meant to be on a Hardcore (Hard mode) mode only and such I have added mods to give you multiple ways to keep yourself alive, some ways are just to be very very passive and make cobblestone armor early on and not walking out until noon, some ways are to play with friends so you can be "revived" by them...

The end does not matter which way out of the multitude of ways, I made it for you to finish your mission, the end of the story is you only have one life... So I made it so you have a "grace" accident card... From limited ((updated 9/16/21 1,000 hours)) testing of other players I have dealt with, they used both totems within the first night, repeatedly. and the world was done due to their death... None of my group of very experienced players I have played with could play this modpack without using their totems and more than just once........With the modpack created to insight fear on the player, I added a multitude of mods that will make mob's more aggressive, more of them, stronger, and overall just a harder experience to play with including the "Scape and Run: Parasites"...

There is a mod that makes your health a "per part" damage, without armor you can be one-shot killed, with that natural regeneration does not exist now... Generally starting is just way harder and requires more time......... Days are now 3 times longer than normal, but that means nighttime is 3 times longer, so make sure you are plentifully prepared, or you will be sleeping in a dirt shack with no tools in the dark..... The terrain down to cave generation has been changed, with tons of ambient changes including having to deal with water, and heat/cooling system will make your life harder, ensuring that you need to be prepared with fire, food, water, and shelter, before the first night..... the nights outside can get bitterly cold, and there is a chance that your first night is a blood moon if you thought trying to live normally was hard and caused many many game-ending deaths, the blood moon doesn't make it any better. This is a grim mod pack due to me just not finding mod packs that are grimly hard to do...

 

  • Your Mission is to live for 55 Minecraft days, during those 55 days, you need to make it so you have a stable source of
  • Water
  • Cows
  • Chicken
  • Sheep
  • Bandages
  • Basic Survival Equipment (torches, wood, tools)
  • Villager Items

 

You need to build a Point of Operation, where villagers and your animals can live... you cannot upgrade a village and call it a "home"

Using immersive engineering as your end goal to get weapons, technology, and overall stability to your home and progression to better items...

You Cannot sleep until AFTER a blood moon, in which, you can sleep for 3 days before the next blood moon, your 3 days of sleeping does not stack...

Zombies, and the Parasites, get stronger and harder every day, so watch out, and always be on your toes during a rainstorm.

 

This modpack is MEANT to be grim and hard, and I have yet with 480~ hours of personal time been able to do this... and I have found it has been quite enjoyable, and a friendship ruiner... In a good way... the way its going I might just do a~

 

 

 

WELCOME TO PARASITE AND RUN 2.0!!!

As if you thought that the older versions of this modpack were way too easy, you have thought wrong if this was going to be another update to make it "ok". This brand new refresh comes with many many new features... such as:

  • Harder blood moons 

  • Harder mobs 

  • An ever-increasing level of mob strength
     
  • Did you hear about the news about that one mod that tends to break people due to it making gaming unplayable, that's right, a rework of the tough-as-nails mod! 

  • Did you know that the new 2.0 PaR comes with the brand new, and not at all old "Serene Seasons"!!! Yes, yes you will now have the unfortunate luck of spawning in a random season, and dealing with the outcomes!!!! Don't worry team, I only made it so it will frustrate you JUST enough to not make you stop playing.

  • Oh, wait what's this?? A brand new terrain generation, ALONG with an ore drop rate rework!?!? Yes, my fellow citizens, you will now have to go into the mines, an extra few days just to get the same amount of rewards!!! Don't worry I won't add microtransactions, that keeps me pure, and no way I can get into trouble.

  • Oh, would you look at this, along with the new, Terrain Generation, Caves/ore drop rate, Serene Seasons, the game looks different as well. This is the brand new "Conquest Reforged Resource pack/Modpack" this modpack will make sure that anyone that attempts to complain that there isn't enough block variety cannot complain to me anymore!!!

  • "Aren't you tired of doing all these hard challenges and not having anything to show for it????" WELL NOW YOU CAN! Just use the new Achievement Capes to show off JUST how much work you put on a modpack that doesn't like you to begin with :).

  • Want it to be darker?? Well too bad, now adding the brand new and (not updated) "insanity mod", now you won't be able to just not sleep, or just eat zombie flesh all the time, now you must create meals that keep your sanity up!

  • Ever thought what was in the dark? Now you don't have to, they will be looking at you as well!!!

  • Don't worry guys, I make sure it wasn't that hard. I let you use those chests that you find everywhere in buildings... well NOW YOU HAVE TO PICK THEM (if it works..) with the all-new "iron waster 9000" lock picking should be added to every chest in the game now, and you cannot break it to get the loot inside.. don't worry it should only range from 6 to a nice number of 37 pins JUST to get into one chest, let's hope it had good loot in it!!!

 

And the best part out of the entire modpack, NEW BUGS!!!, yes, yes, yes, thank you, thank you, thank you, it wasn't that hard at all! Now you have the fortunate problem of dealing with bugs! Don't worry this won't get famous anyway so I don't have to bother with it!!!!!!

(known issues such as random freezes (could be due to falling blocks) huge zombie hoards, blood moons being too hard, mobs being able to break through your house, creepers not making noise, deer making human hurt noises, AND MANY MORE!!!!)

Please keep in mind, I still do not own any of these mods, or shader packs, I intend to use them to keep the "vibe" of the modpack in place... Yes, I do understand that there is a bug with how the extended days work, it messes up with the shaders "water waves and grass waving"... I have no way to fix it, the other mods don't work with shader packs, and the mod pack that extends the days, forces time set making it look "jumpy".. instead of just pausing it... The one that pauses during mid-day doesn't work with shaders, from what I was able to test.
