Our Glowing Empire is a modded multiplayer-oriented pack with an emphasis on the creation of civilizations, specialization, manufacturing and trade, and intercontinental travel. The main mods used to achieve this theme are Create and MineColonies.
The idea is, each player ventures out into the world and uses the features of MineColonies to begin a civilization. You can do this as a solo player, or you can group up with others to form an alliance! The MineColonies mod allows you to control the placement of buildings in a very Clash of Clans-like manner, with various buildings impacting your colony in different ways. The pack features many different preset styles for your colonies, so everyone's civilizations will look unique! Or, you can just build your own buildings, up to you!
As you and your colony progress, you'll eventually wanna tap into Create, an engineering mod which allows you to automate nearly anything, with a very intuitive system of energy. Basically, everything is powered by rotational energy. Start out with hand cranks and waterwheels, then eventually progress to windmills and steam power! Create allows for the automated manufacturing of nearly any item in the game, even rare materials like diamonds! The hope is, everyone in the server will choose some kind of manufacturing to specialize in.
Create also has an incredible feature of trains. It is my hope that with these trains, players will connect their civilizations and begin trading amongst each other. With scarcity eliminated, you will all be free to enjoy Minecraft in any way you choose!
