What's new

OREBOUND: The World Below 0.1.9

Underground Dungeons, Mining Relics, Enchanting & Travel Update

OREBOUND 0.1.9 is one of the largest progression and quality-of-life updates so far.

This release adds hidden underground dungeons throughout every mining zone, exclusive mining relics, named home teleportation, expanded enchantment support, a complete Mining Power tool guide, a full Apothic Enchanting guide, and several Quest Book navigation improvements.

Underground Dungeons and Relics

Mining now has an additional exploration path.

Hidden dungeons can be discovered naturally while tunneling through every major OREBOUND mining zone.

Dungeon progression includes:

  • Origin — Abandoned Prospector Camp
  • Outer Stone — Forgotten Excavation
  • Dense Strata — Dense Foundry
  • Deep Strata — Deep Research Vault
  • Ancient Strata — Ancient Excavation Vault
  • Abyssal Strata — Abyssal Containment Vault
  • Corebound Strata — Corebound Reliquary
  • World Core Expanse — World Core Reliquary

Each zone's dungeon becomes progressively more dangerous and rewarding.

Dungeons include:

  • Different architecture and materials
  • Stronger guardian encounters as depth increases
  • Depth-appropriate supplies and resources
  • Special OREBOUND loot
  • A guaranteed exclusive mining relic

The dungeon itself is the rare discovery, so its unique relic is guaranteed rather than being another random drop.

New Mining Relics

Dungeon relics are uncraftable Curios items designed specifically for mining-focused builds.

The progression is:

  • Miner's Token — +5% Mining Speed
  • Prospector's Lens — +8% Mining Speed, Fortune +1
  • Excavator's Charm — +12% Mining Speed, Fortune +1
  • Master Mining Helper — +18% Mining Speed, Fortune +1, Night Vision
  • Ancient Mining Core — +24% Mining Speed, Fortune +2, Night Vision
  • Abyssal Survey Core — +30% Mining Speed, Fortune +2, Night Vision
  • Corebound Resonator — +36% Mining Speed, Fortune +3, Night Vision
  • Worldheart Relic — +45% Mining Speed, Fortune +3, Night Vision

Relics improve mining efficiency but never provide Mining Power.

OREBOUND's normal Mining Power progression must still be completed.

New Dungeon Quest Chapter

A new optional Quest Book chapter has been added:

Underground Dungeons and Relics

It appears directly beneath Mining Help and documents:

  • Dungeon progression
  • Which zones contain each dungeon type
  • Mining relic progression
  • Relic effects
  • Optional relic collection goals

Exact dungeon locations are intentionally not revealed.

Players still need to discover them while mining.

Named Home Travel

OREBOUND now provides a built-in multi-home system.

Each player can save up to 5 named homes.

Examples:

/sethome base

/sethome mine

/sethome factory

Return using:

/home base

/home mine

Additional commands:

  • /homes — List saved homes
  • /delhome <name> — Delete a saved home

The original /sethome and /home commands remain available and use the default home slot.

Homes preserve position, facing direction, and dimension and survive relogs, server restarts, and death.

The Mining Help section now includes a Named Homes And Return quest explaining the system.

OREBOUND Equipment Enchanting

OREBOUND's armor, mining tools, and utility equipment now correctly participate in Minecraft's normal enchantment system.

Supported equipment includes:

  • Reinforced Pickaxe
  • Steel Pickaxe
  • Osmium Drill Pick
  • Reinforced Diamond Drill
  • Core Drill
  • Worldbreaker Drill
  • Abyssal Mining Armor
  • Corebound Mining Armor
  • Crushing Hammer
  • Prospector's Hammer
  • Handheld Prospector

Compatible tools can now properly use enchantments such as Efficiency, Fortune, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, and Mending.

Mining Power Tool Ladder

The Armor Tools And Weapons chapter now contains a full Mining Power progression guide:

Power 1 → Power 2 → Power 3 → Power 4 → Power 5 → Power 6

Players only need to obtain one valid tool from each Mining Power tier rather than crafting every supported mining tool.

The quests use OREBOUND's actual Mining Power classifications, making the guide useful regardless of which compatible tool path the player chooses.

Improved Modded Tool Support

Several advanced powered tools received additional reliability fixes.

  • Immersive Engineering Mining Drill — Mining Power 4
  • PneumaticCraft Jackhammer — Mining Power 4
  • Industrial Foregoing Infinity Drill — Mining Power 5
  • Industrial Foregoing Infinity Hammer — Mining Power 5

These now use fixed OREBOUND ratings to avoid inconsistent detection from another mod's internal upgrade systems.

External tools remain capped below Mining Power 6.

Apothic Enchanting Guide

A complete 17-step Apothic Enchanting Guide has been added to Mod Tutorials.

The guide covers:

  • Enchanting Table basics
  • Eterna
  • Quanta
  • Arcana
  • Quantic Stability
  • Enchanting Clues
  • Valid bookshelf positions
  • Hellshelves
  • Seashelves
  • Deepshelves
  • Endshelves
  • Infusion Enchanting
  • Enchantment Tomes
  • Enchantment Library
  • Extraction and filtering
  • Applying Apothic Enchanting to OREBOUND equipment

The guide uses a strict sequential progression so players can learn the system one mechanic at a time.

Quest Book Navigation Improvements

Several important reference chapters have been moved to a much easier-to-find location.

Main Progression now begins with:

  1. Mining Help
  2. Underground Dungeons and Relics
  3. Mod Guide Books
  4. Armor Tools And Weapons
  5. Chapter 1
  6. Chapter 2
  7. Continuing through Chapter 10

The old separate Reference section has been removed now that its important content is directly accessible from Main Progression.

Existing World Support

No new world is required.

However, the new underground dungeons only generate in newly generated chunks.

If you are continuing an existing world, travel beyond previously explored terrain to begin finding the new dungeon structures.

Existing bases, Resource Seams, machines, quest progression, homes, and player data remain compatible.
