To get started, check out the Tinkers' Survival Book that you receive in your Eccentric Tome upon loading a new world. It'll guide you throughout the beginning stages of surviving along your journey. You're going to need to familiarize yourself with obtaining plant fibers, harvesting sticks from leaves, and picking up rocks. Your initial tools will be a crude set, from Tinker's Construct, as there are practically no vanilla tools available.
