What's new

Nytheria 1.0.0: the first full release

Released 2026-10-15 · Minecraft 1.21.1 · Fabric Loader 0.19.5 · Java 21

This is the first full official release of Nytheria. After the pre-alpha builds the pack is now complete and stable enough to play from start to finish. Thank you to everyone who tested the early versions and reported what broke.

If you played a pre-alpha, please start a new world. Old pre-alpha worlds are not supported. The quest book and the story changed too much for old progress to carry over.

What's in the pack

The Lamplighter's journal and the quest book

  • A full FTB Quests book: 11 parts, 27 chapters and 440 quests, from your first night to the far end of the stars. 65 of the quests are hidden pages for players who look closely.
  • The book follows a story. You find a torn leaf, follow the signs she left along the road and slowly put her journal back together.
  • Press L to open the journal. It shows the road so far, the pages you have found, your purse and the fires and titans behind you, and it opens the quest book at the right chapter. You can also open it from the tab in your inventory.
  • Many quests react to what you actually do in the world: resting by a fire, sleeping in a village, waiting out a storm, sharing a meal, taming something. You don't tick these off by hand.
  • Torn pages are hidden in loot chests. Lamps and fires lie along the way, a keeper waits at a lantern, and at the end there is a boss fight in a clearing up north.
  • Embers are the journal's own currency and can be spent at her wares.

A big world to explore

  • Over 400 mods (about 320 content mods, the rest are libraries).
  • Nine dimensions: the Overworld, the Nether, the End, the Aether, the Otherside, Eternal Starlight, the Twilight Forest, the Astral Dimension and Setback.
  • New terrain from Terralith and Oh The Biomes We've Gone, reworked Nether and End biomes from Better Nether and Better End Remastered, and around 50 structure mods.
  • Around 40 bosses with their own boss bar, from Cataclysm, the Twilight Forest, the Astral Dimension, Bosses of Mass Destruction, Eternal Starlight, the Aether and more, plus more than a dozen mini-bosses.

Made for Nytheria

23 mods were written or remastered for this pack, among them:

  • QuestBridge: the journal, the story and the quest tasks that react to what you do.
  • Player Difficulty: each player has their own difficulty. It grows with play time, kills and gear (up to 2.5×) and pays back in bonus XP and loot.
  • Obscura's Simple Storage: one searchable storage network for all your chests, with wireless terminals.
  • Mob Grindworks, Omni Hopper, Anvil Disenchanting and Stackable Enchanted Books (enchanted books stack to 16).
  • Lootr Remastered: every player gets their own loot from structure chests.
  • Stellar View Remastered: a better night sky with the Milky Way, shooting stars and planets.
  • Obscura's Dynamic Lighting: held torches and burning mobs light up their surroundings.
  • Polybind: when two mods want the same key, you pick from a radial wheel instead of losing one of them. It also ships the pack's default keys and settings without overwriting the ones you changed.
  • TickMender: dozens of fixes for lag spikes, memory leaks and log spam across the pack.
  • Sporran: lets a few NeoForge mods run on Fabric, so L_Ender's Cataclysm and the Astral Dimension are in the pack.
  • HungerDial: you get hungry 35 % more slowly.
  • Mandala's GUI x Nytheria (with cesarzorak): the pack's look for menus and inventories.

Playing together

  • FTB Teams with shared quest progress.
  • Open Parties and Claims with team claims: a party claims and force-loads land together.
  • Unified Xaero Worldmap shares the explored map between everyone on a server.
  • Simple Voice Chat, graves that keep your items and XP, and per-player chest loot, so nobody has to race to a structure first.

Before you play

  • Memory: give the game 10 GB of RAM (8 GB at the very least). In the CurseForge app, set this under the profile's settings or in Settings > Minecraft > Java Settings.
  • The first start takes longer than usual, because a few mods have to be prepared once. Later starts are faster.
  • Shaders are included (Complementary Unbound with Euphoria Patches, BSL, Derivative) and are off by default. Press K in game to turn them on.
  • Keys: L opens the journal, Enter skips a conversation that can be skipped, and keys shared by several mods open a radial wheel.

Known issues

  • The quest book has no chapters for the Twilight Forest, the Astral Dimension or Cataclysm yet. You can still explore them freely.
  • The boss fight's second phase is still missing its "hush" sound effect.
