My first ever modpack. I hope you enjoy!


 Important Information:

  • Warning: This modpack is computer intensive, it is highly suggested to play on low settings or add Nothirium to your version of the modpack.
  • Before loading up a world remember to set the world type as 'Lost Cities' or 'Lost Cities (BOP)' and choose the 'Jacobyte' profile.
  • It is recommended to use the CurseForge app to install this modpack. (Curseforge Download)

 Tips for Beginners:

  • Drinking Water: In order to drink water, go to a water source and shift + right-click the water to drink it. Although this way is dangerous, it is the fastest way to drink.  To get cleaner water to drink you must either make bottles with glass, or get a canteen. If you put a water bottle or canteen in a furnace it will cook the item until it purifies the water.

  • Attention to Temperature: Different biomes and regions have different temperatures. Seasons also affect the weather, so it is best to make a seasonal clock to check the season. The game begins in Autumn so the player has time to prepare before harsh weather occurs. If you do not wish to change locations during a season, you may create a chiller or heater to keep your home in working order.

  • Climbing & Wall-Jump: Climbing and wall-jumping will be your main way to explore the land and escape zombies. Using crouch will allow you to climb walls, and in order to wall jump you must use another wall to climb higher. Enchantments on boots may enhance the climbing experience with 'double-jump' and 'wall-run'. It may take a while to learn the mechanics but once you've got the hang of it you can travel anywhere.

  • Surviving Zombies: Zombies will be crawling all over your world, especially at night. The first thing you should do is get weapons, tools, and armor. (In older versions, there were two options for killing zombies, one was to target their limbs and cut them off, the other was to aim at the head and go for the kill. Now just aim and attack). If you are unarmed, it is recommended to cross rivers or bodies of water to buy you time. Zombies are also sensitive to light and blood, they can smell a bleeding player from afar, and whenever they see light, they will hunt. 

  • Cities: If you have chosen the City profile, then here are some tips. Cities are full of zombies and spawners, it is best to avoid them until you are ready. Once ready, you may loot the cities freely, but keep in mind that different sections of the city will have different loot. The metro, basements, and different floors will all have different loot for you to obtain. Spawners will also drop extra loot and exp when destroyed. Some cities may be connected through metros and highways.

  • Guns: Crafting recipes are easily found using JEI, I recommend searching @ModularWarfare and looking at which items are craftable. As of the latest modpack version, the craftable weapons are the FNX45, P88, Mosin Nagant, VSS, L115A3, Tarus, Spas12, and Tec-9. Looking at these weapons with LShift will allow you to see ammo types and attachments. This works in both inventories and JEI. More guns may be added in the future to counter Protection IV armor.
