Description
Myth & Legends 2
A strange new land opens to you and your friends or enemies. Seek out your new home and draw settlers to come aid you in your quest to tame the harsh wilderness. Beasts and monsters are hunting you, so dig deep and fortify your realm as others may also be working against you.
That in itself is a short, simple taste of what you can experience with Myth & Legends. The pack is built heavily with a sense of role play immersion in mind. Running a server, you can have your players build up your settlements, dungeons, and even change your characters appearance if you want to play as something more fanciful. Crafting tools and equipment may give them different prefixes which can allow for a player based market. These markets can be crafted and placed anywhere, allowing the player to even role play as a traveling merchant, even finding and recruiting npc followers to assist in the dangerous wilderness. A horse and carriage to haul your goods from town to town will be crucial, even crafting maps to mark places of importance which than can be traded or sold.
Now, the groundwork for offense and defense have been laid, but why would you need ever more powerful equipment? Well, many new creatures have been added to your world, even those with modifiers, making them more dangerous than their standard counterparts, but, also have new loot for solo adventurers, or parties of adventurers seeking to return with valuables to sell and trade. New systems for magic have also been added, creating new and interesting ways to integrate Magi into the world. Finally, where will you sell and trade at? Well, the standard villages have been upgraded with new content and mechanics, making living in a village and defending it, more appealing.
For those who want a more advanced and decorated place to call home, there are the MineColonies, opening the players to a new world of play where they can define the layout and development of their colony. Each colony can be one of a large assortment of cultures, or even a mixture of cultures if you wish. Traveling player merchants may be vital for the creation and maintaining large settlement. And when you have large settlements, you can have a new area to role play, with opposing cultures that enter open war with eachother.
Attacking or even defending your settlements can be achieved with recruited villagers trained as soldiers. Also ships of war, like the Galley or Drakkar, able to seat multiple players at one time, allowing you to take the fight to them. If you are on the receiving end of that assault, you can rely on your Rally Banner, calling on your city's guards or military to aid in its defense. However, it might not be players alone trying to invade your lands to pillage its wealth. You can be attacked by Pirates, Bandits, Vikings and even Amazons. These events can make for an interesting and critical role for your players to take part in. The larger the settlement, the larger the force that attacks it.
Myth & Legends 2 has been through a lot of changes over the last couple years, not all of it here on Curseforge. However, due to it going from a single player experience to a multiplayer, a lot of work went into refining the pack down to what is now from the sister modpack, Ascension of Heroes 2. Similar to a sequel of the original, it still holds much of what Myth & Legends was based around, medieval environments, adventure and exploration, but a lot had to be stripped down and retooled in order for it to run smoothly over a server. If you have any questions, concerns or if something just flat out breaks, the Myth & Legends discord is open to all. If you still want to play Myth & Legends in its single player environment, look onto the Ascension of Heroes modpack, it may have more of what you're looking for, the main server for the modpack will be running on Myth & Legends 2. Thankyou for taking the time to read through this novel entry.
In your journey, you are the main character, so make your story a good one.
