Description
Greetings, Sire! Your stronghold awaits you!
In MusketCraft 2, you will build a castle, recruit an army and workers, fight raids, and with the rewards of the raids, reinvest and strengthen your army. With mods like Epic Knights, Better Combat, Difficult Raids, Terralith, and Cavernous, the world will feel entirely new but maintain the familiarity of vanilla Minecraft. Additionally, many vanilla systems have been overhauled to make this modpack feel integrated with the gameplay loop.
Vanilla Changes
Variant Selector
- Gone are the days of tediously crafting stairs, slabs, walls, and fences. With Quark's Variant Selector feature, you can change the shape of a block with the press of a button
Enchanting and Experience
- Enchanting Table? What's that? There's no Enchanting Table in this modpack!
- Instead, you craft most enchantments and more specific utility enchantments like Silk Touch and Aqua Affinity come with crafting certain equipment like Gold Tools, Gold Armor, and even the Turtle Shell
- Other enchantments can be bought from Librarians, found in Raid reward loot, or just found out in the world
- The only use for Experience is for combining and repairing enchanted items, which has no increasing cost
- You keep Experience on death. If I had my way, Experience would not be a thing at all!
- Mending is disabled from this modpack, so don't even think about skirting around repairing!
Trading
- The villager economy has been entirely overhauled. While many trades from vanilla have remained, they've been rebalanced.
Dimensions
- No Nether, no End! This is done to keep the gameplay focused on castle-building and raids
- Most Nether resources are available in the overworld (with some exceptions like Netherwart)
- Almost nothing from the End is found in the overworld. Not even elytras!
Mobs
- The Phantom and the Warden are no longer spawnable
- Deep Dark caves and Ancient Cities will not generate in the world
- Sculk Shriekers are also removed since they are annoying without the threat of a Warden spawning
Netherite
- Netherite is now dubbed as 'Corrupted'. You can obtain Corrupted equipment by doing the following:
- All raids now come with Elite enemies, that serve as bosses/minibosses. They drop Corrupted Tablets (formerly 'Netherite Upgrade Smithing Template'). These tablets can be duplicated with 2 Emerald Blocks and 6 Stone.
- At Master and Grandmaster difficulty raids, you will receive Ancient Silver as rewards after the raid. These can be crafted with Emeralds to make Hero's Medallions.
- You can combine diamond gear with a Corrupted Tablet and Savior's Medallion at a Smithing Table to produce Corrupted gear.
- Corrupted Gear is repairable with and only with diamonds
Mod and Datapack Changes
Epic Knights
- Most armor recipes have been changed
- Armor has been split into four classes: Militia, Soldier, Knight, and King:
- King is just the Maximilian Armor. It's made by taking Knight armor and combining it with a Savior's Medallion at a smithing table. King armor is repaired with diamonds.
- Knight armor is made by upgrading specific items from the Soldier class using Steel Ingots, which are found in Raid rewards.
- Soldier is comprised of armor at or above Iron. It can be acquired via crafting or by purchasing from an Armorer villager. It is repaired with Iron Ingots.
- Militia is comprised of armor at or below Iron and are made of leather and wool. They are repaired using woolen fabric or leather stripes.
Difficult Raids
- Difficult Raids does not have an official 1.20.1 port. So I updated it with permission from the original mod creator
- Raid reward loot has been overhauled. Some details about the loot is found scattered throughout this page, but the actual composition will not be discussed here
- The main thing about the Raid reward loot is that you'll get a lot of Emeralds and a lot of useful items for you and your recruits.
Recruits and Workers
- Hireling blocks are now craftable and are intentionally cheap to craft. You can reuse them by breaking them and replacing them. However, you should note that hirelings are marginally more expensive to account for this
- This design choice is made due to a bug in Recruits and Workers allowing this behavior. It is subject to change should this bug be fixed.
Tom's Simple Storage
- Recipes have been overhauled such that most items are craftable with copper and wood
Worldgen
- Terralith generation is much more vanilla-friendly. That is to say slabs and layered snow have been removed from Terralith world generation
- Cavernous functionality has been stripped to just include the new cave biomes. The advancements and dimension stuff has been removed.
There have been many other small changes to mods, so be on the lookout!
