Supported Versions

  • 1.21.1

1.2.1 has released, marking an end to shader pack updates, revamping resource pack behavior, and other minor tweaks.

  • There will no longer be any built-in shader pack updates or removals for this modpack. Users are encouraged to experiment with shaders freely on Mococoa.
  • Improved loading and prioritization of built-in resource packs, enabling smoother updates to default packs across modpack versions and better compatibility with user-added packs (thanks to the Paxi mod for underlying support).
  • Removed Mellow Shaders from the modpack (no longer built-in; visual changes include altered cloud behavior).
  • Fixed water visuals (water causation/wakes visuals corrected; vanilla water transparency restored).
  • Reenabled coordinates HUD by default.
  • Tab player locator behavior changed: tab no longer shows player names on locator bar; player heads remain visible.
  • You can now swap tool/change hose mode (Traveler's Backpack) by pressing G.
  • Minor default option tweaks; replaced Default Options with YOSBR.

For 1.2.1 changes to fully take place (alongside removing bloat files that have been causing crashing issues for some users), a clean reinstall of Mococoa is required if you are updating from ≤1.2.0.1. This is the only time a modpack update will require a full reinstall or any mandatory user action. That’s why it’s best to just get it done now rather than put it off, as this is a one-time step that creates a clean foundation for all the future updates you’ll inevitably install.

Follow the steps below in order:

  1. Open CurseForge: Go to your installed Minecraft modpacks.
  2. Back up wanted files: Right-click Mococoa and select Open Folder. Inside \curseforge\minecraft\Instances\Mococoa, you'll find: saves (your worlds), xaero (your waypoints), and options.txt (your settings). Move any you'd like to keep to a safe location — your Desktop is recommended for easy access later.
  3. Uninstall Mococoa: Go back to your installed modpacks and locate Mococoa. Click the three dots next to the "Play" button, select Delete, then confirm when prompted.
  4. Reinstall Mococoa: Click the Browse tab at the top of CurseForge and search "Mococoa" (or "wlxtee"). Install the latest version, 1.2.1. Avoid installing any version prior to 1.2.1, or you will need to repeat this entire process when updating.
  5. Restore your backed-up files: Move your saved folders/files back into the Mococoa folder (\curseforge\minecraft\Instances\Mococoa). You're done — clean reinstall complete!
