Description

Important Modpack TLDR:

  1. Don't use Alpha or Beta releases: Alpha and Beta releases are strictly for testing and are not stable. Do not update to Alpha or Beta versions of our modpack. Please only use actual releases (green box with "R" inside), especially if you are running a server.
  2. Major Updates: We will occasionally push major updates of the modpack that completely change the mod list and break compatibility. We normally do this when we update to newer Minecraft versions. The first number in our versioning scheme (X.0.0) denotes when a major update is made. For example, if the latest release version was 6.3.0 and then we push a new release with version 7.0.0, that means that the new release is a major change and will not be compatible with previous versions.
  3. Singleplayer Beware: This modpack is designed to be used with a dedicated server. Several mods are excluded from the default version of our modpack since they can be run server-side. For the best singleplayer experience, please use the client-server version of our modpack which can be found under the latest release's Additional Files tab.
  4. As always, please be careful and back up your saves/servers before updating.

Our modpack is primarily created for our friends to use on our own server, but we wanted to have it on CurseForge for easy installation and don't mind sharing our pack with everyone else, so...hello!

Since this is for us and our friends, this pack has a healthy mix of what everyone wanted to use. There are a few tech mods, a few combat mods, a few exploration mods, and a few decorative mods.

File Version Numbers

We (poorly) use a numbering system similar to semantic versioning. Occasionally versions will be missing because they were internal versions never prepared for release (again, we suck at versioning). Here is an overview of how it works:

  • X.0.0 - The first number changes when that version breaks combatibility with other major versions.
Example: 1.x.x is not compatible with 2.x.x, and 2.x.x is not compatible with 1.x.x.
  • 0.X.0 - The second number denotes changes that are not backwards compatible, but are forwards compatible.
    Example: 1.0.x can update to 1.1.x, but 1.1.x can't downgrade to 1.0.x.
  • 0.0.X - The third number denotes patches that are compatible with other versions so long as the first two don't change.
Example: 1.0.0 can update to 1.0.2, and 1.0.2 can downgrade to 1.0.1.
  •

Please understand that backwards compatibility is not a concern of this pack and is not tested. Please backup your files before making changes to prevent data loss.
