Description
As this is a redux of sorts, heres a new rendition of my original description:
Mahou's Menagerie Redux is a modpack aiming to add an entirely new feel to the world, including worldgen, progression and a generous helping of magic.
Featuring many custom origins (race and classes), elemental affinities and professions, you can completely handcraft your own playstyle. There are tons (probably several hundred) of different combinations of playstyles that can impact gameplay, from minor differences as being being a bit smaller and faster, to major ones that can make you an unstoppable fighter at some major costs. Some of the more common traits are being locked to eating only meat or plants, so to bolster your options, mods such as Better Animals Plus and Farmer's Delight, give everyone much more options for some fine dining. If you ever grow tired of farming and spelunking, you could also dive into the arcane with Botania, Bewitchment and Spectrum, each giving players access to stronger tools and weapons, while also giving alternate paths to resources you might have trouble finding otherwise (I'm looking at you netherite). On the other hand, if you really like farming, mystical agriculture is now here to give you an endless supply of whatever resource you might need, as long as you have the patience to progress through the mods item tiers and waiting for harvest.
To make the world a bit more varied and interesting, Terralith comes along and adds many new biomes and thankfully is much more compatible in this version, meaning that tons of new structures, dungeons, villages and more are littered throughout the world, ranging from completely new and original to reprised and revamped! Your adventure in the main dimensions will be just a little bit spicier too thanks to a full revamp from BetterNether and BetterEnd, while a familiar glowstone portal will now actually work thanks to Paradise Lost! Speaking of new dimensions, strange doors have been appearing all over leading to strange and dangerous areas and bee hives seem just a bit bigger on the inside? It looks like investigation into DimensionalDoors and The Bumblezone might be well worth your time.
At the end of the day, this modpack is intended for anyone who enjoys fantasy and a bit of ridiculous progression scaling, so some things can and will be unbalanced, and a bit of discretion is recommended if you plan on playing with anyone else. This is only my second modpack so there still might be some technical issues to work out, and at the same time, I'm not a developer by any means so if there is anything seriously wrong, you may have to talk to the original mod authors if I don't manage to figure it out.
As a final note, this modpack is fairly large, and might require a stronger pc to run well as some of the generation and rendering is a bit demanding.
Mahou's Menagerie was a 1.18.1 modpack I'd made back in August of 2023, and it was my first foray into creating an 'expansion' sized modlist. After many conflicts, a lot of frustration and having to choose one over another with over many mods, I settled with what I'd put together and released (and occasionally updated) the pack. I guess I'm pretty stubborn though, because recently I've decided to bring my modpack to a more supported version. With 1.19.2 being much more popular, many mods that had issues in previous versions have been fixed and now include much more content altogether. Overall this 'redux' modlist returns almost all of the major mods from 1.18.1 plus a considerable amount extra.
