KingSlayer MP — Version 1.4

1.4 is the progression and world-balance update. This patch focuses on making the pack feel harsher, more intentional, and harder to skip through lucky structure loot. It includes world climate tuning through Homeostatic and a major chest-loot overhaul through LootJS, including full replacement of targeted structure chests, tiered loot buckets, gear durability scaling, and custom weapon/tool/armor progression.

Added

  • Added a Homeostatic climate tuning pass for the Overworld, built around full biome categorization and custom biome-type data to smooth temperature transitions across the world.
  • Added dirty water risk tuning through Homeostatic fluid data.
  • Added full custom loot progression for structure chests instead of relying on default chest balance.
  • Added tiered loot buckets for common, mid, high, and relic structures.
  • Added custom enchanted book chances by tier.
  • Added standard weapon pools for vanilla, Better Copper, and Simply Swords materials.
  • Added tool pools from wood through diamond, including Better Copper tools.
  • Added armor pools for leather, copper, iron, and diamond armor.
  • Added durability bands to reintroduced weapons, tools, and armor so found gear better matches structure difficulty.

Changed

  • Reworked structure loot so targeted chests are now fully wiped and rebuilt, instead of only partially edited.
  • Expanded chest control to cover modded and vanilla structure chests, including YUNG’s Better Dungeons, When Dungeons Arise, The Graveyard, and vanilla structure loot tables.
  • Reworked Simply Swords progression by removing default chest progression and reintroducing weapons through controlled rarity bands.
  • Reassigned relic-tier loot to rare overworld structures to fit the pack’s intended no-Nether progression path.
  • Reworked loot bundles so higher tiers now inherit useful items from earlier tiers instead of hard-replacing them, making chests feel fuller and more natural.
  • Expanded loot filler with more practical modpack-value materials instead of overloading chests with arrows and torches.

Balance

  • Common and mid-tier loot now better support early survival with raw resources and basic utility materials.
  • High and relic tiers now contain broader loot pools with both staple resources and stronger progression rewards.
  • Standard weapons are now tied more closely to material progression instead of appearing randomly out of band.
  • Reintroduced gear now uses tier-based durability ranges, so lower-tier finds are usually more worn while relic finds are cleaner and more valuable.

Armor progression now follows a structure curve:

  1. Low/common: leather
  2. Mid: leather with low copper chance
  3. High: copper with low iron chance
  4. Relic: iron with low diamond chance.

Progression

  • Homeostatic tuning now serves as the foundation for world difficulty, shaping environmental pressure across the Overworld.
  • Reskillable progression remains a major gate for weapon access and intended combat scaling.
  • PHC2 crop locks continue the pack’s profession-style farming progression.
  • Structure loot is now more tightly aligned with the intended power curve and is harder to abuse for early skips.

Technical

  • LootJS chest handling was rebuilt around full replacement of targeted chest loot tables.
  • Tier routing now supports common, mid, high, and relic chest categories across both vanilla and modded structures.
  • The current loot control file includes; ranged stack counts, durability-based gear drops, full vanilla chest integration, modded structure routing, enchanted book injection, tiered weapon, tool, armor, and unique pools
