A (relatively) lightweight and straightforward modpack focused mostly on improvements to existing mechanics and extending the early to mid-game.

Description

My personal flavor of Minecraft, with a decent (but not overwhelming) mix of new mechanics, extended progression, and new content. Includes an exhaustive list of custom recipes, items, and attribute-related balance changes to improve how mods interact with each other.

The biggest vanilla changes come from the Overgeared mod, which overhauls the crafting of tools and armor to require multiple additional steps. This change, in my opinion, comfortably extends the early to mid game without muddying the game's flow of progression too much. A proper in-game tutorial will come soon, but for now please utilize either the in-game JEI/EMI or Overgeared's mod page for help on tool progression. Consequentially, I have disabled the ability to chop trees bare-handed--you can make a Stone Axe pretty much as soon as you spawn using the environment around you.

Other highlights include The Aether (and some of its addons), Create, and BetterNether/BetterEnd. Many smaller QOL or nice-to-have mods are included, such as Farmer's Delight, Quark, and Supplementaries. Exploration is rewarding (and for certain tool progressions, required), with many structure and generation mods including but not limited to: Terralith, Biomes o' Plenty, Yung's Better Everything, Dungeon Now Loading, and Explorify.

This modpack contains subtle horror elements. There are no dweller mods, and nothing added is jumpscare heavy (pretty much only happens if you try). That said, if you scare easily and/or don't like that, you can safely remove those mods as nothing else in the pack relies on them. However, if you are going to keep them, I highly suggest you go in knowing as little as possible.

Mods to remove if you want to:
From the Fog (Fully configurable in-game with /function fromthefog:admin/config)
Who's There (Configurable through .json file)
Nostalgic Structures (though this doesn't do much)

While this started as more of a kitchen sink-type modpack, I have since spent a lot of time learning KubeJS to balance and integrate things to the best of my (very inexperienced) ability. I hope you enjoy it!

I recommend you play on Hard as there are no major changes to enemy health/damage. While definitely more than a strictly Vanilla+ experience at this point, the pack is intended to be fairly straightforward and lightweight. You could feasibly speedrun this pack if you wanted to, and I intend to keep it that way. In addition to that, this pack is designed to run well even on weaker systems (tested on multiple different setups with varying specs). Of course, if you would like to improve performance, simply disable shaders as they are enabled by default.

If you would like a more Vanilla+ experience, 1.5.1 is the last version I would consider to be that, as 1.6.1 introduces the biggest changes to progression (like Overgeared).

DO NOT UPDATE MCV - MORE CHEST VARIANTS! The rendering pipeline is not yet updated so it causes a crash when placing any chest added by MCV.

This pack contains my options.txt to reduce the annoyance that is configuring mod keybinds. If you are having performance issues, be sure to check your video settings. Namely, I have Chunk Update Threads set to 2. If this causes you issues, set it to Default!

Special thanks to waccyy's Fantasia and blueversal's Beyond Depth for inspiring me to make my first modpack. I also learned a lot about KubeJS through them.
