Use Mekanism machinery to create elaborate factory's and production lines, while maintaining pollution levels to avoid environmental damage (or not).
Ore is generated in rare but large amounts, meaning fighting over resources is possible, while also adding a sense of achievement when discovering a ore vein.
Rain ICBM's on your enemy's bases to completely destroy them.
