A semi-linear, semi-expert modpack with a focus on exploration and the integration of tech and magic.

Description

Impostor Syndrome

A semi-expert modpack for players who like a challenge, hate themselves a little, and love building cool stuff anyway.

Alright, so here’s the deal:
Impostor Syndrome is a 1.20.1 semi-expert modpack inspired by the golden age of 1.12.2 (Enigmatica 2 Expert, Divine Journey 2, MeatballCraft, you know the type), but rebuilt from the ground up in modern Minecraft. You’ll be diving headfirst into hundreds of tech and magic mods, all tied together with a semi-linear progression system that actually makes sense and doesn’t feel like it’s punishing you just for playing.

What you’re getting into:

  • 600+ mods, with a little something for everyone
  • 2,000+ quests, handcrafted to help you figure out where to go next without straight-up babysitting
  • Custom multiblocks, machines, crafting mechanics, and a stupid amount of recipes built to make automation feel worth it
  • A progression system that unlocks new mods, new ideas, and better tools at the right pace
  • Dimensions to explore, bosses to wipe the floor with (or die to repeatedly), and treasure worth hunting

What makes this pack special?

This isn’t just a kitchen sink with a questbook slapped on top.
Impostor Syndrome has a real structure, each chapter builds on the last, opening up new ways to approach the same materials and systems. You'll hit that sweet spot where you feel like you're figuring things out without it all being dumped on you at once.

Combat is no joke either.
Mobs scale with your progression using Improved Mobs, and they’ll sometimes spawn with nasty abilities thanks to Infernal Mobs. Bring good gear. You’re not just here to build factories, you’re here to survive.

Speaking of gear: you’ll unlock more and more equipment options as you move forward. There’s tons of ways to build your loadout, and the pack will make you rethink what’s in your hotbar more than once.

Oh yeah, it’s also community-driven.

Built by one person, but constantly improved thanks to feedback, bug reports, and suggestions from the community. Tons of balance changes, fixes, and features have come directly from players, and updates are still actively being pushed. If something feels off, there’s a good chance someone’s already pointed it out, or you can be the first to do it.

TL;DR:

  • Tech? Yep.
  • Magic? Also yep.
  • Tough mobs? Absolutely.
  • End goal? All the creative items, fully automated, probably while you cry.
  • Will it make you feel like you don’t know what you’re doing half the time? Yeah, but that’s the point.
Because the truth is, you’re already doing way more than you think you can. You just don’t believe it yet.
