v2.3 Release - Rebalance Update Part 1
While I added a few quality of life things, this update’s main focus is about mobs and balancing their spawning mechanics. This would have just been a hotfix update, but since there were quite a few changes, I decided to make it a minor update instead. It would be really funny if I had to make a hotfix update of a rebalance update…
I’ve also decided to split these rebalance updates into different parts. I know there’s going to be more I’ll have to adjust in the future, but I’ll have to see for myself.
Additions:
- Added Sounds. Yes, that's the name of the mod. Various new sounds will play, mainly with UI.
- Updated some mods to their latest version.
Changes:
- Mob max speed has been reduced. (x0.1 > x0.05)
- This made mobs that were already fast on their own too fast to outrun. This was a problem with Nightmare Stalkers and their ability to walk on water, turning it to dark frost. Because they’re quite fast, they’d freeze the water above you making it so you can’t swim up to breathe. This attribute may be tweaked even more later.
- Chance for mobs to spawn with items in their offhand has been significantly reduced. (50% > 10%)
- Chance for mobs spawning with additional equipment has been reduced. (30% > 20%)
- This is added onto the chance for mobs to spawn with equipment, which is 10%.
- Guard Villagers now have 100 HP.
- This is so they can actually stand a chance against most threats. Just make sure you gear them up with some proper equipment.
- Missioners can no longer spawn as part of raids.
- Because of the scaling difficulty, missioners became too difficult to deal with alongside having to deal with an army of Illagers. They would spawn almost every wave after the first 3, forcing you to deal with a boss every time.
