Description

Disclaimer: This pack is no longer being worked on and is being replaced
by a new project! Stay tuned for that!
Welcome to How it Ends, a modpack that changes the way normal Survival Minecraft is played by bringing back some mechanics from Minecraft's Beta whilst also keeping most of the features from the modern game, to top things off the pack also features a Solar Apocalypse that progressively gets harder every couple of days up to day 7 in which you'll be forced to survive underground or in shelter.
List of major changes the pack offers below.
Beta Mechanics:
Old Style Combat.
Hunger + Sprinting removed, food heals hearts directly.
Most food doesn't stack.
Only Pigs/Hoglins drop food.
Zombies drop Feathers.
Modern game changes: There's quite a few of them, but only the major ones will be listed.
Rocket boosting with Elytra's is no longer possible.
Most enchantments have had their max level increased, Efficiency for example can now go up to level 9.
Most Villager trades have been overhauled.
Villager discounts nerfed, you can no longer infect a villager and cure it repeatedly to get stupidly cheap discounted trades.
Minecart's buffed and are much faster on a track of powered rails.
Mending removed, to compensate for this Anvils have had their Too Expensive cap removed allowing for items to be repaired indefinitely.
Shields will instantly break when used to block a Creeper explosion.
Shields half non-projectile damage rather than blocking it completely.
Creepers will explode after receiving blast damage resulting in a explosion chain if multiple creepers are nearby.
Lunar Events can occur randomly, each event is unique depending on what it is.
Solar Apocalypse information:
Since the pack involves a Solar Apocalypse there's a couple of changes made to keep things interesting and add more of a challenge.
Tall/Double tall grass no longer drop seeds, they can instead be found in dungeons or strongholds.
All farms in villages have died due to the incoming apocalypse.
Haybales are mostly absent from villages. Perhaps the Illagers took them?
Most overworld biomes have received a dead apocalyptic looking color to them.
Oak/Dark Oak trees no longer drop apples.
Items dropped on the ground exposed to sunlight after day 7 will immediately burn, only Netherite items are immune to this.
