Hollowreach-1.1.0.zip
What's new
Every config in this pack was compared, line by line, against RLCraft 2.9.3's
real files. It turned up a lot of places where we were accidentally harsher
than the pack we are imitating, several where a mechanic was quietly switched
off, and a few where nothing happened at all.
### Wood works the way it should
- Sneak + right-click a log with an axe or saw to chop it into planks where
it stands. A plain right-click still strips bark, so nothing you already knew
has changed. Planks whittle into sticks the same way.
- A new block: the Sawmill. A stonecutter for wood — 6 planks per log, and
worked wood at 1 plank each instead of vanilla's 1.5–2. 95 cuts in all.
- Wooden and stone tools are craftable again. No Tree Punching deletes all
ten recipes; RLCraft turns that off in its config and we never had. Restored.
- Torches burn for 480 minutes, not 60 — a unit mismatch between the 1.12
and 1.20 configs had us running at one eighth of RLCraft's duration. Matchboxes
light fires again, and torches relight from lava, glowstone, blaze powder or
blaze rods instead of one single item.
### Stone breaks into rocks
- Mining stone, granite, diorite, andesite, deepslate, tuff, calcite, blackstone,
basalt and both sandstones now yields loose rocks — 2 usually, 4 if you are
lucky. Four rocks make a cobblestone. Silk touch still returns the block.
- Five rock types that No Tree Punching never had were added for this.
### Getting hurt looks like it
- Blood on the screen when you are hit, fading over about two seconds, with
more of it the harder you were hit.
- Dust kicked up as you move through sand, gravel, snow or soul sand, tinted
the colour of whatever is underfoot. More of it when sprinting.
- Floating damage numbers and a mob health bar.
- First Aid's body diagram moved to the bottom right, and your hearts are
visible again alongside it.
### Water can kill you now
- Untreated water carries a 75% chance of making you ill, and 15% of those
become Parasites — sixty seconds of half-heart hits and fast hunger
drain that can finish you. Purify your water. Vanilla and HOLLOWREACH potions
are exempt; only actual water does this.
- Two cures: an Antidote for poison, hunger and parasites, and a Cleansing
Draught for ordinary debuffs. Neither cures the other's job, deliberately.
- Drinking no longer eats the water source block, thirst no longer locks
sprinting, and every crop, soup and drink in the pack now restores thirst —
watermelon most of all. Hover any food to see how much.
### Danger, rebalanced
- Elite mobs: Champions and Infernal Mobs, tuned to RLCraft's own rarities.
They do not stack — one mob is never both.
- Blood moons.
- Blights have real health again — they were getting a bonus of exactly zero.
- Curses can now appear on boss loot, with the one that could delete a limb
capped so it cannot.
- Lycanites packs are a quarter the size they were, mobs start at level 1 rather
than rolling up to 5, and the grue in the dark is five times less
aggressive than it was.
- Natural regeneration now stops at three hearts — enough to save you, never
enough to heal you. It was previously healing to full.
### Fairness fixes
- Wool drops from sheep again. A default we never touched was deleting it.
- Wood, stone and flint gear is no longer skill-locked. RLCraft locks nothing
below gold; we had stone tools behind level 4.
- The "Enhanced Celestials 2 is here" screen is gone. It opened on every
single world load, advertising a 1.21 version that cannot be installed in a
1.20.1 pack, with no setting to disable it and a Dismiss button that saved
nothing. Suppressed by the HOLLOWREACH mod.
- Knapping flint never fails, fire starting is 50% rather than 30%, and
shears cost Gathering 2 instead of 8.
- First Aid: every body part has 6 HP rather than 4, head damage blinds you for
1.5 seconds instead of 8, and the nausea RLCraft deliberately disabled is off.
