1.12 Pack Info:

GETTING STARTED:

Open up your Pyrotechnic Esoterica!  It's a very user friendly, highly illustrated starting guide.  :)

MOD LIST:

Exploration

  • Project: Vibrant Journeys - Adds all kinds of small touches to the world, from seashells on the beaches to tiny snails that drop slime droplets
  • Biomes o' Plenty - Bundle of biomes and supporting decorative blocks
  • Additional Structures - Assorted goodies to stumble across.
  • Recurrent Complex - This doesn't just add structures, it is also a powerful tool for backing up your favorite builds for pasting into new worlds.
  • Salty Mod - Creates salt pans and gameplay around them.  I've disabled the primal core salt flats, look for these instead, they're much cooler.  :D
  • Battle Towers - Test your metal against the mobs and receive pack-customized loot.
  • Bountiful - I've set up my bounty boards to only reward one thing: Mega Loot chests.
  • Mega Loot - Feels like presents.
  • Pyramid Plunder - Jars that need breaking, but mind Hisako's warning from the load screen!
  • Bountiful Baubles - Moar loots.  Also fills the gap with teleportation potions to get you home when your bags are bursting from that dungeon run.
  • Artifacts - Adds various baubles.  Some of these are not magically themed, but I have not blocked them (yet?).
  • Dynamic Surroundings - Atmospherics and SFX for your world.

Progression

  • Pyrotech - Early game and rustic styled ore processing!  (Note:  we have primal core, but it just wasn't user-friendly enough for some of our server denizens).
  • Tinker's Construct - GUTTED!  We've only kept the Smeltery Module--preferring the progression of other tools and weapons.
  • Horse Power - Dovetails nicely with Pyrotech to aid in automation (will be refining configs and recipes as we go through beta).
  • Reskillable - Leveling skills up allow you to unlock traits and use more items. By default, a lot of vanilla items are locked to require leveling your skills up. Configs will continue to be edited to cover more mods.
  • Bewitchment - This mod is an homage to the much beloved Witchery from the 1.7.10 days, and the initial inspiration for this pack.
  • Astral Sorcery - For when the hedge witches start contemplating the stars.
  • Electroblob's Wizardry - This mod has some of the most straight forward and fun spell progression!
  • Roots - Nature wizard! Druid guy?  Get your Pyre on!
  • Embers Rekindled - We've got Star Wizards and Earth Wizards and Wizard Wizards.. time for Dwarf Engi-wizards.
  • Totemic - Music wizard.  Eagle Seer... whittler.
  • Extra Alchemy - You want to build a potion shop too, right?
  • Universal Bestiary - Gotta kill em all!  An in game book that unlocks info on mods as you combat or examine them.
  •

Flora & Fauna + Mobs

  • Ice and Fire: Dragons in a whole new light! - This mod has been expanded on a lot and really shines here.
  • TekTopia - Massive overhaul of villagers.  Be a city planner.  Or just drink in the pub with the locals.
  • Champions - Occasionally upgrades a mob to a champion, with special abilities & hot bar
  • Better Animals Plus - Adds to ambience, but also adds a boss and cool drops.
  • Animania - Overhauls livestock and passive animals, adding more behaviors, breeds and a few new animals These animals were too mean and high maintenance, we've returned to simpler times.
  • Doggy Talents - The only way to have a Pug named Bugbear in minecraft... that you can ride into battle if you really want to.
  • Exotic Birds - Adds to the world and provides a way to fly.
  • Pam's Harvestcraft - Many many plants and foods.  Using this behemoth of a mod is made simpler with Cooking for Blockheads.
  • Harvester's Night - Early game boss that has a chance to spawn at night (I'm creating this during fall :D)
  • Just a Few Fish - Just makes the world more alive.  Also you can put fish in buckets and make an aquarium.  Also the Lampreys from Better Animals chew on the fish...
  • Simply Cats - Hedgewitch needs cats. Cats which are less annoying. Hoping to bring this or something like it back

Decorative

  • Cooking for Blockheads - arguably, this it too 'techy' and/or belongs in quality of life, but without it, Pam's Harvestcraft becomes a bit too unwieldy without IMHO.
  • Cathedral - Fancy blocks for fancy builds.  Stained glass, railings, etc.
  • Dawn of Time Builder Edition - Several civilization styles of blocks (nice smoking block in here to soothe the 1.14 envy).
  • Chisel - Block variants.  So many.
  • Chisels & Bits - Comes with saw for vertical slab needs.
  • Rustic - Nice simple deco alongside the brewing modules and more!
  • Decocraft - Purely decorative objects.
  • Earthworks - Rustic themed blocks.  Some nice roof tile options!
  • Fairy Lights - String lights.  I can't not!  This mod is delightful, and great for decorating temporarily for holidays in game.
  • MalisisDoors - Extra functionality for doors + big a** doors.
  • Mowzie's Mobs - I turned down the Barakoa and punched up the spawn of the yeti-guy, hopefully I will actually see him in the wild for the first time.
  • Tea the Story - Build a Tea House next to the Potion shop.  Nothing can go wrong. -This one -might- come back

Utilities

  • Light Level Overlay Reloaded - Press F4 (Shift F4 to switch modes)
  • Tool Belt - Use your baubles belt slot for this craft-able tool belt that gives you a rotary menu for your tools (Press F by default).
  • Better Builder's Wands - These will help keep you sane during your larger/longer survival mode builds.
  • Linear - Some might find this one cheaty, or redundant to the wands above.  Hold shift and drag out a line of blocks to place them all at once.
  • Configurable Beacons - This allows you to customize how far beacons reach, which is super handy alongside the following mod:
  • Magic Feather - Allows the crafting of a feather that grants creative-like flight when in range of a beacon.  This will let you build cooler things, faster esp when you have a day job.
  • Arcane Archives - A magical (and very shiny) mass storage solution.
  • Storage Drawers - For when mass storage automation is daunting... or too shiny.
  • Iron Backpacks + Iron Chests - Upgradable storage containers in both stationary and mobile varieties.
  • Biomes o' Plenty Tools - Finally, something for those gems to do--also this is where you'll get your 3x3 hammers--no Tinkers in this one.
  • Carry On - Picking stuff up and putting it down.  Primarily a way to move full chests, but also great for putting that escapist piglet back in its pen.
  • Torch Master - This is here so that we can aspire to a safe town.
  • Dude! Where's my Horse? - Ocarina that summons your horse.  (Note, the horse must be in a loaded chunk for it to work).
  • Comforts - The bed away from bed.
  • Controlling - VERY useful and intuitive key rebinding mod.
  • Player Plates - Pressure plates that only trigger from a player.
  • Tomb Many Graves 2 - Keeps your stuff safe when you die.  Crouch over grave to get it all back.

Quality of Life

  • Apple Skin - Better food & Saturation display
  • JourneyMap - I keep wanting to remove the map to make people rely on landmarks, etc, but I get too much satisfaction from seeing the town grow.
  • JEI - I've included a bunch of JEI integrations to make finding patterns and such easier.
  • CleanView - Potion FX can get disorienting, this keeps them off your screen.
  • ClearWater - Makes searching the seas and hunting for serpents less eye-straining
  • Chunk Animator - Makes chunks loading in look intentional rather than glitchy & patchy.
  • Fast Leaf Decay - Leaves are less lazy about falling.
  • Faster Ladder Climbing - For when getting up that wizard tower is a chore.
  • Fence Jumper - Because that piglet always escapes. Even when you introduce an airlock system.
  • Find Your Way - More types of compasses!
  • Floocraft - Teleport via fireplaces, Harry Potter style. This is intended to be used for your own builds and hearthstones below as the more shared network, but do as you will!
  • Hearthstones - Waystones was too easy and too numerous--also loved the idea of the guild hall teleports being separate and immediately available to everyone.
  • Horse Tweaks - Basically makes horses viable.  Allows them to swim for instance (requires making special saddles).
  • SwingThroughGrass - You hit the grass, but you still hit the mob too.
  • Vein Miner - Collect it ALL, all at once.
  • Tree Chopper - Use an axe, fell the whole tree.  Note:  Stumps take longer to remove (under Better with Mods config).

Sundry

  • [Backport] 1.13 Water Mechanics [Bubble Columns] - Adds some basic water functionality for mob farms/item and player elevators.
  • Inspirations - Small Vanilla themed tweaks and blocks, like carpeted stairs.
  • Future MC - Backports some of the blocks from 1.14, I love that little lantern and I cannot lie.
  • +Compatibility, Code Libraries & Performance: Please see the 'Dependancies' tab above for a full list.
