And just be careful not to get sand on you, because in the sand you could forget where you were.

And finally, there are important multiblocks for progress, make sure to check their recipes, they might surprise you with special versions of items that wouldn't appear in JEI and also, certain items have special innate abilities, make sure to read their descriptions and or press left or right click randomly, for example, magic books will give you more maximum hp if you have them equipped.

The experience is linear, not exponential, and anvils have a maximum price, never too expensive.

Mining is for dwarves and minions; use the Master's Staff to have them mine for you, or one of the other tools.

Occultism has many circles; currently, it only has three, and high tiers can do everything low tiers can.

Building is more fun to plan in Creative than in Survival. Use the Schematic Cannon or the Portable Blueprint Tablet, easy to use for your first house.

Botania is slow. If that's bothersome for you, replace it with the Leviathan Egg; it generates mana passively within its multiblock.

You can level special abilities like iron magic spells and spellbooks with MOTP.

DO NOT EVEN THINK OF ENTERING THE SKULK'S TEMPLE OF THE SPAWN. It's recommended to leave it for the end game, but if not, make sure you can reactivate it when needed.

There are two dimensions that have interesting things but aren't needed to progress. One is between the sand and the other is in the darkness.
