Using mods such as create you have the ability to create almost vanilla like machines, all the way from an auto-crafter to steam engine trains and rails.
With the carry-on mod you have the ability to carry chests and mobs, you can even stack mobs on top of each other.
And many more mods to decorate your world, like the wide variety of Macaw's furniture and housing addons such as blinds and curtains.
