A more difficult Minecraft with more facets.

Description

A more difficult Minecraft with more facets.

Exploring, mining, and looting demands much more involvement on the part of the player, for their character's safety.

The enemies aren't a whole lot more difficult on their own, although some of them are changed by some mods in this modpack. Mechanics like needing both food and water to heal (Tough As Nails) as well as bleeding (Majrusz's Progressive Difficulty) make it much more difficult to maintain contact in an encounter, leaving the enemies to not be largely modified. Finally, enemies pose a threat- and aren't as simple as needing just iron armor and surface discipline and knowledge to never die again.

Mining and staying outside at night are made very risky by threats that may not be negated for several hours of gameplay, demanding caution and readiness while you take risks to progress. (The Man From The Fog, Cave Dweller)

Finding the fastest way to level up and gaining materials along the way will be a large part of progression. Reckless gameplay won't as easily lead to diamond equipment in the first ten minutes. (Project MMO)

With the End Remastered mod, you have to find and visit all the corners of the world just to reach and defeat the ender dragon. (End Remastered) Fighting the temperatures on the way will demand thorough preparation- but, luckily, you will be given direction with the available compasses, one of the few boons in the mod. (Explorer's Compass, Nature's Compass)

While you may not lose your items with the Corpse mod, reaching your corpse again is a grand challenge should you get greedy or take too big a risk. (Corpse) In this way, every death greatly counts. You'll be afraid to die- it's up to you to smartly prevent it. Do remember to play it safe.

There are hardly any additional ores. There is no magic and hardly any tech. Your storage problems could be moderately alleviated with the Sophisticated Backpacks and Sophisticated Storage mods, if you can manage to get the resources to upgrade them. However, there are hardly any forms of automation in this mod. It'll largely be up to you to get what you need. (Sophisticated Storage, Sophisticated Backpacks)

There are also a few quality of life mods that will help with the otherwise tedious parts of the game, as well as a few mods just to add a bit of content, detail, sentiment, or otherwise. There are many structures and additions to world generation that will leave you with new questions and new risks to take before and during exploration of these new features of the land.

Anvils and use of enchanting is quite a bit easier, thankfully. Anvils can transport enchantments, be repaired with iron bars, and use of the anvil doesn't increase the cost of modifying items. This can be used to maintain your tools, armor, and weapons of choice, and the ease of enchanting will make big contributions to your power, once you get there. (Anvil Restoration, Enchantment Transfer, No Additional Repair Cost - Anvil)

Make sure you don't stand in the dark. (Engulfing Darkness, Engulfing Dynamic Lights)
