Description

Important Performance Notes:

Currently the modpack runs best with 4GB minimum ram set in the curse launcher.

5GB is recommended, but you can try more if your world needs it.

Optifine is Recommended, but cannot be included with the pack.  You can get it Here.  1.10.2 version.

Using "Additional Java Arguments" can help too.  Simply open your Curse Launcher Settings, select Minecraft, and paste the following into the Additional Java Arguments section:

-XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=30 -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:+UseBiasedLocking -XX:SurvivorRatio=8 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=2048m -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=20000

Welcome to the world of Finis.

Finis is a modpack designed around tech, magic, building, adventure, combat, and progression.  It takes advantage of Gregtech 5U for truly immersive ore generation and recipe management, then throws everything under your "kitchen sink" on top, paying special attention to performance and play-ability.  For those of you that are scared of the "G" word, I like to think of this pack as being Greg-lite, with many of the annoying or grindy features in Gregtech, turned off, and progression that spans across multiple mods instead of GT alone.

The list of mods in Finis is actively being tweaked and updated, but there are some big names you can expect to see sticking around, such as:

  • Gregtech 5U
  • Botania
  • Chisels & Bits
  • Applied Energistics 2
  • Better Combat Mod
  • Hardcore Darkness (torches with dynamic lighting are enabled)
  • BetterFps
  • Ender IO
  • Immersive Engineering
  • Industrial Craft
  • Forestry
  • Pam's HarvestCraft
  • Tinker's Construct
  • Tomb Many Graves
  • WTF's Expedition
  • NEI / JEI / Extensions
  • Psi
  • RFTools
  • OpenComputers
  • Login Shield
  • Journey Map
  • And many many more that are being considered for permanent addition

If you're looking for a modpack that gives you plenty of "options" on how you want to play, without needing a super computer to do it, then you've come to the right place.  Almost any play style is supported, whether you're into cathartic mining, constructing factories, playing with magic, searching for rare loot, or building high detailed structures.  It's all part of the journey towards Finis.

Finis is being designed with the Potatoverse server and gaming community in mind, but fully supports singleplayer and player hosted servers too.  An easy-setup server package may be provided in the future.
