Exploration and Fantasy 2.9 (The Land's Balance Update).zip
What's new
* "In the end, I was far too rash, wasn't I? I tried everything I could, from raising the dead, monitoring the Void, keeping a watchful eye on multiple
monsters across the land, and even shattering the End Portal, but it was all for nothing.", the King laments. He is only one man and though wielding what
seems to be near infinite strength, it's finite to everything else around him. The dust settles, the world itself shifting as the King lays down his mace.
Of course, this doesn't mean he isn't still willing to fight you, but trying to fight the rest of the land around him is tiresome even for one who doesn't
have a mortal body anymore. He's come to accept his role in this world despite everything, now seeing you as more of a rival than a threat. Was this always
going to be the outcome of events? With as much given honesty as possible, I truly do think it was. Destiny is a fate even more cruel than death itself and
the one who bridges the realm of the living and the dead has come to know this all too well.
- As a soft nerf to Lifesteal and a more overall nerf to enchanting as the threshold for obtaining XP has increased across the board, the base level scaling
for Enchanting Plus has increased from 6.0 to 6.6. For example, making most swords a max level enchant sword costed around 12,000 XP. Now, this cap is around
13,196. Lifesteal 3 beforehand costed around 960 XP, which is about 25 levels. Now, it costs around 1584 XP, which is about 31 levels.
- The Zombie Scepter is now disabled. In the past, I did some testing and thought it was a bad item. Which it was. THAT IS, until it's paired with the Orb of
Absorption and Golden Heart, making it not only one of the best items in the entire game, but the best item for summoners as it's basically infinite zombies
as long as you repair it. At the very least, it can't get Dominion, but all of the Loyal Zombies spawn in with Strength making them more powerful by default
anyways. They're also really good at hitting stuff, meaning you could very easily run down most of the modpack with just this item alone pre-nerf. You would
think this means I would make one of the other scepters have a higher drop rate to compensate, but since the Scepter of Fortification, Life Draining, and
Twilight are also really powerful and some of the best items in the game in their own right, it's better to leave that up to the base Twilight Forest's RNG.
- Fun fact! The Bone Sword that deals extra damage based on HP that says it doesn't work on bosses! It does! On some of them! Yay! The bonus damage of the
Bone Sword has been nerfed from 100 to 8.
- I've been wanting to shoot this item dead as I didn't really get the point of it only to find out it doesn't even work properly! The Illager Nose is now
disabled. It was supposed to make illagers neutral. And it doesn't like at all actually.
- A number of items from FutureMC that aren't functional or have their purpose served better by a different item in the modpack are being disabled, these
being;
- - Cartography Tables
- - Smithing Tables
- - Fletching Tables
- - Blast Furnaces
- - Smokers
- - Stonecutters
- - Bells
- - The new dyes
- Looms...are actually still enabled! However, I noticed that there isn't a way to get the banner items from FutureMC, at least that I know of, and that's
an issue. From these select monsters, you have a 0.1% chance of getting a FutureMC banner pattern;
- - Grove Sprites drop the Flower Charge.
- - Creepers, Rocket Creepers, and Support Creepers drop the Creeper Charge.
- - Skeletons drop the Skull Charge.
- - The Wither drops Thing at a 100% drop chance.
- - The Minoshrooms drop Globe at a 100% drop chance.
- - Zombie Pigmen drop Snout.
- Bees now have a slightly higher chance to spawn in Sunflower Plains over regular Plains, at 0.06% instead of 0.05%.
- Because Oceanic Expanse was incompatible with this modpack, causing the game to crash frequently when I had it installed during testing, the compatibility
it has with FutureMC has been disabled.
- Ghost Jelly is now disabled as it lets you fly but without a proper investment towards earning it.
- The Respawner Statue from Better Nether has been disabled. They'll still spawn in the Nether, but you won't be able to right click with them.
* YAAAAAAY MORE METALLURGY NERFS!!!!! man. Let's do a lightning round, the following effects have been disabled;
- - Flawless
- - Cathartic Strike
- - Acceleration
- - Extraterrestrial 1, 2 is still enabled. 1 increased damage by 45% in other dimensions, but 2 increases the speed of Astral Silver tools in other
dimensions, which isn't nearly as bad.
- - Restoration
- - Reinforcement
- - Mountain
- - Inclusions
- - Titan will not be disabled but some other changes are being made to Osmium armor;
- Osmium's chestplate and legging's armor values have been nerfed from 6 to 4.
- Osmium's armor toughness has been removed entirely.
- Osmium's knockback resistance has been nerfed from 1.0 to 0.5.
- The movement penalty of Osmium has been nerfed from -0.01% to -0.02%.
- - Berserker
- Whenever you mine too fast, it leaves behind ghost blocks that will leave you stuck in them and it's very annoying to deal with. With the AntiGhost mod
installed, that's a thing of the past!
- Mostly just to hide it in JEI, the Earth Talisman from Mowzie's Mobs has been disabled.
- The Test Structure item from Mowzie's Mobs has been disabled.
- The Logo item from Mowzie's Mob's has been disabled.
- In his time of constructing the Final Castle, The Monarch needed many materials in order to actually build it. He took inspiration from the compasses in
the Overworld and put together an experimental item, the Ore Meter, that of which was used to locate materials underground. In his absence, curious Giant
Miners, both who visit the Castle and roam the clouds in the Highlands, now have claimed ownership of these items...perhaps you could claim one for yourself?
The Boss List text for the Giant Miners was updated to reflect this. Be mindful while using this item, it doesn't exactly give you the coordinates of ores
around you but moreso tells you how much there is of each given ore.
- While the Uncrafting Table from Twilight Forest has been disabled for a while now, it's now hidden in JEI.
- The Cinder Furnace is now disabled.
- Cinder Logs are now disabled.
* Of the available miniature structures from Twilight Forest...
- - The Naga drops the miniature of the Naga Courtyard.
- - The Lich drops the miniature of the Lich Tower.
- - The Final Boss Kobold drops the miniature of the Twilight Forest portal.
* Be careful placing the miniatures down! You won't be able to pick them back up once they're placed down! It's kind of a Bedrock situation except they're
able to be broken.
- Every Scroll from Waystones has been disabled, only Warp Stones remain. This is because they're the only one out of the 4 items with a penalty after using
it.
- The old cooldown of the Warp Stone from 2.4 has been brought back. It's now 300 seconds again instead of 180.
- Tridents objectively have no reason to be in the modpack and have been disabled. The Boss List text for the Elder Guardians was updated to reflect this,
now changing the end of their text to "Try using one of their eyes for the End portal."
- With tridents gone, all the enchantments for them have been disabled as well.
- Updated the profile image folder to use a more modern logo picture for the modpack.
