What's new

- In a way, I expected the problems of the void to become a much bigger issue. Though the End is still tied to the Nether, the Void dimension is still here,
the void's fog still lies near the bottom of the world, and the Experience Ore is pushing further down, the portals seem to be waning. Nether portals spawn
much less often now. Everything else still happening perhaps suggests that the Void wants to have a much bigger presence in the world, though not in the
most malicious manner. Has it always been this way and humanity simply made the final push? Is this something new as a direct result of their actions? We may
never find out the answer to that. For now though, take it in stride. The void isn't out to get you, not as much as those dragons are anyways.
- Some of the bosses of this world carry tunes on them similar to the ones you may have heard around the land or in the OST playlist. The Wither with Pigstep
and the Hirschgeist with Otherside are the current standing bosses with discs on them. However, it seems there are more now, for anyone that likes the music
discs from future versions of Minecraft thanks to the Discsbackport mod! There are some non-boss mobs that also drop discs now,;
- - Sludge and Amber Lords drop Bounce. They're just slimes piloting wood mechs.
- - Lava Cows drop Lava Chicken. Make a Potion of Mooten Lava and use it on a cow with Fire Resistance!
- - The Iron Golem drops Creator, you make them after all.
- - The Snow Golem drops the music box version of Creator, they're sadder Iron Golems.
- - The Ferrous Wroughtnaut drops Precipice. The ultimate music disc for your upcoming journey!
- - The Crab Rave disc is a 0.05% drop chance from Crabs, Horseshoe Crabs, Helmet Crabs, and Mimicrabs. Don't worry, it's a copyright free version. I was
worried about that too, which is why I was close to disabling it until I found out.
- - 11 drops from Void Eyes.
- - 13 drops from The Hierophant.
- - The Final Boss Kobold drops Far, to show how far you've come to the end of your Twilight Forest adventure.
- - Ward is a 1% drop chance from Warmanders.
- - Blocks is a 3% drop chance from Death Worms. The easiest lower drop chance disc to obtain!
- - Cat is a 1% drop chance from Feral Wolves. Weird ass looking dogs.
- - Chirp is a 1% drop chance from Songbirds.
- - Frostmaw drops Mall.
- - Mellohi is a 1% drop chance from Chameleons.
- - Stal is a 1% drop chance from Crystalline Sprites.
- - Strad is a 1% drop chance from Strays.
- - Wait drops from the Moon Queen.
- Changed the 1.8 update notes slightly to account for the balance changes to the spear from the last update. This will also be updated on CurseForge as
well.
- The Void grows less malicious. The winds that once seemed hostile have grown silent, no longer replicating a tune to one's ear. However, something has
changed about the main OST; ...track has appeared, placing itself in a strange spot above all the other tracks, almost as if it was there first all
along. The Void is also much more forgiving now, no longer linking the End and the dimension to the Nether. The fog remains though and will likely stay that
way.
- Zotpyres are the natural evolution of bats and in days leading up to now, they were a fairly common species. Of course, this hasn't really changed much,
but a strange effect of the Void's presence in the world seems to be messing with the echolocation senses of Zotpyres, causing them to travel out less and
become more secluded, slashing their spawn rates in half and pushing them out of the following biomes;
- - Twilight Forest Mushroom Forests
- - Mushroom Island Shores
- - Twilight Forest Enchanted Forests
- - Beaches
- - Cold Beaches
- - Stone Beaches
- - Jungles
- - Jungle Edges
- - Jungle Hills
- - Twilight Forest Deep Mushroom Forests
- - Mutated Jungles
- - Twilight Forest Highlands
- - Twilight Forest Thornslands
- - Twilight Forest Glaciers
- - Mutated Jungle Edges
Due to Zotpyres spending more time in seclusion, they drop between 1-3 coal now.
- Bats follow suit of this, though they drop less coal, only up to 2 pieces.
- The Better Nether and Twilight Forest Fireflies drop fireflys.
- Ice Crystals, Stable Ice Cores, and Unstable Ice Cores drop up to 2 shattered ice.
- Nautilus from Better Animals Plus drop their shells.
- Silverfish drop up to 5 silver nuggets and 3 fish.
- Pandas drop up to 5 bamboo.
- Mosquito Swarms inflict hunger and therefore have a 5% chance to drop Famine.
- Endermites drop up to 2 End Rods.
- Does anyone even care about Ocelots? I don't run into them like ever. Whatever. They drop up to 3 jungle saplings.
- Vexes always drop their swords.
- Seahorses drop up to 3 fish.
- Elder Guardians drop a gold block.
- Coyotes drop up to 5 fang teeth.
- Foxes drop up to 5 fang teeth.
- Jellyfish drop up to 4 poison stingers.
- Better Animals Plus and Twilight Forest Squirrels drop to 3 tree logs.
- Badgers drop up to 5 fang teeth and dirt.
- Bobbit Worms are distant cousins of Claw Traps and have a lowered chance to drop the Beast Claw. Specifically, it's a 0.09% chance.
- Bees drop 1 poison stinger.
- Grottols have improved drops, here's the full list;
- - Up to 2 extra diamonds, maximum potential is 4.
- - Up to 2 gold ingots.
- - Up to 2 iron ingots.
- - Up to 2 emeralds.
- - Disturbed Hollows drop up to 2 Cerulean and Moonstone ingots.
- - The drop chance of every piece of Knight Armor from the Undead Knights has been reduced from 5% to 1%.
- - Pinch Beetles drop up to 3 chitin.
- - Cave Trolls have an added 2% chance to drop magic beans, a 100% chance to drop up to 3 huge mushglooms, and a 100% chance to drop up to 3 Aurorian
mushroom crystals. They also participated in the trades of olden days between the two dimensions.
- - Loyal Zombies drop up to 3 rotten flesh.
- - Parasites don't always drop as an item, but they do now. Each variant will drop the normal version, though variants can still drop versions of
themselves.
These changes aim to leave the Questing Ram, among a few select others, namely villagers and their variants, as the only mobs without drops to give more
purpose throughout the entire game. For context though, here's the full list of mobs that received no new drops that are interacted with in other ways;
{- - Villagers
- - Snow Villagers
- - Myrmex Larvae
- - Traveling Merchants
- - Questing Ram}
There are two monsters without drops that cannot be accessed in Twilight Forest without cheating and spawning them in, the Roving Cubes and Castle Guardians.
They're not counted in the list above due to having no current way to access them in Survival.
- Lost Miners are now disabled. I don't like the mechanic they have all that much.
- Swapped out the Experience Ore mod for the Exp Ore mod. Experience Ore WAS good, don't get me wrong, but the block being named tile.experience_ore.name was
getting to me.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to remove the Experience Ore mod's name.
- Amphitheres and Hippogryphs can be used to cheese flight much earlier than usual. However, I really like the both of them and don't want them to be
disabled. The spawn chance of both has been reduced to 1.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for Mixinbooter.
