What's new
(Back to the void.)
- Originally, it was speculated that this dimension was created by the convergence of magic from the Twilight Forest and The Aurorian. While seemingly true,
this dimension is ALSO part of the Void underneath the world itself, however, it's out of wack because of the rampant use of magic. Normally dormant, the
Void upholds the fabric of every dimension, but you've seen what's been happening lately. The End connecting to the Nether, portals showing up in multiple
dimensions, the Void Eyes and the odd items they hold on them, it's all connected. At the end of the day, you'd think this place would be hostile, given the
conditions surrounding its existence, especially given how it can show up and disappear at complete random. Instead...you can build in it, nothing spawns
here, nothing harms you. Sure, you can't sleep or place water here, so it's weird in those regards, but it's not outright harming you. In a way, the most
malice it holds is in the Void Eyes and even then, they don't seem to do very much. Speaking of, now that the void is back, they drop the portal igniter
again, however, they still drop bedrock. Presumably, there's no need for them to anymore, but yet they cling onto it. If they don't even have any limbs,
where are they keeping the bedrock? Perhaps the whispers of the mysterious winds inside the dimension can answer that, although they don't sound very
pleasant at all. At the end of the day, this place carries aspects of everything, and that's perhaps the most harrowing part of all.
- The drops of the Final Boss Kobold are powerful, perhaps a little too much given it's an easy boss. Here is the full list of the Final Boss Kobold's
updated drops;
- - Up to 2 Charms of Keeping 2.
- - Up to 10 Fiery Ingots.
- - Up to 3 Enchanted Golden Apples.
- The Midas Touch, Bounty, and Greed effects of Midasium has been disabled.
- Because the Skeleton King now drops the best non gimmick weapon in the game, he will receive the following changes;
- - The Skeleton King now only drops 1 Totem of Undying instead of up to 2.
- - The Skeleton King's attack is being buffed from 30 to 31.
- - The Skeleton King's HP is being buffed from 400 to 425.
- - The Skeleton King's wrath projectile strength is being nerfed from 12 to 11.
- - The Skeleton King's max number of Forsaken he can summon is being nerfed from 12 to 10.
- Now that OsVermis Spiritus are the dominant species of the Nether, it seems like there isn't much for them to get up to. They actually get along fairly
well with the other creatures in there and Wither Skeletons avoid combat with them out of fear of what they've done. While they're still able to drop a
Wither Skeleton's skull, in a very short amount of time, they lost interest in keeping skull fragments on them like trophies. After all, the skulls are
good enough for that alone and it's working to great effect.
- The temperature of the Tough as Nails campfire, base Minecraft furnace, and fire has been increased from 5 to 10, and the Future MC campfire has been added
to the list with a temperature of 10 as well.
~ As a side note, you don't understand how badly I want to buff the canteen or change how the purified water works so that you could infinite source it like
regular water, but I currently don't know how to tweak the purified water AND changing the durability of the canteen makes it basically unusable. This sucks!
I guess the most I can take from Tough as Nails is adjusting the temperature of stuff instead. Bleh.
- The damage of Osvermis Spiritus has been increased from 10 to 15.
~ Fun fact! While Metallurgy items can no longer be repaired in an anvil with their base components, you can still combine two of the same item with itself
to repair the first one, both in regular crafting and in an anvil. Do with that what you will.
- Spectral Armor can be obtained before Knight Armor in the Aurorian and is stronger despite being easier to get. The armor protection of both the leggings
and chestplate are being nerfed to 5 with the boots going down to 3, to be worse than the Knight Armor but still better than other early game armor options
found in the Overworld beforehand.
~ Side note, the 2 armor sets are so close together in progression that once you get access to Knight Armor, you can mix the two of them to make the armor
go above diamond level.
- The spear from Mowzie's Mob's is very powerful, arguably as strong as a Netherite spear in newer Minecraft updates. After some thinking, I decided to make
it as strong as a Diamond spear because it is objectively very easy to boot up normal Minecraft, hop into the caves, and get diamonds in about 10-15ish
minutes after creating a world, giving you access to the second best spear in the game. The other ones do so little attack damage, like the Iron spear doing
3 damage and the wooden one doing 1 that I simply can't make the Mowzie's one do that little damage in good faith. Its attack speed is also 1.05 seconds now,
the same as a Diamond spear. {I forgot to change this section while uploading the update, but the spear is different now! Look below at the Barako changes for further information!}
- During playtesting, the crystal breaking on the Scrapper was annoying me. If the Nether furnace can function without turning off the fire on top of it
every 5 seconds, why not the Scrapper? Crystals that you place on the Scrapper no longer break now.
- Zombie Pigmen drop more gold and gold nuggets now.
- The Golden Heart is much easier to obtain now due to multiple factors. The Blazing Juggernauts and Festive Creepers being gone due to the OsVermis Spiritus
uprising, Zombie Pigmen dropping more gold, and the Nether being more traversal due to eggplants not dealing damage anymore. Two changes will be made in
accordance to this;
- - The Golden Heart now only gives regeneration for 4 seconds instead of 7.
- - The Hierophant will no longer drop an Undying Heart, but will drop up to 8 gold blocks instead of 5 now. He also drops diamond blocks now, which follows
suit of the amount of gold blocks. This change is being made since a fair amount of diamond gear is found in the Hierophant Temple's chests.
- In a move that may surprise some, the Item Stages mod was added to disable the entirety of the Dragonsteel set from Ice and Fire, to allow other armor and
tool sets to shine in the endgame without making people always have to make them. This set has been the bane of my balancing for a while now and the best
conclusion I could come up with was removing it altogether as making the set over and over again is extremely unfun and the set is far too unbalanced for
what it is. It reaches the damage reduction cap and is at a point in progression where one can only do one of two things: nerf it and make it completely
irrelevant or gigabuff it and continue to ruin the other armor sets in its wake. One may question how the Skeleton King is meant to be defeated now and I did
find in testing that it's very possible with other armor sets, though you have to be prepared and know what you're doing. Here's a full list of every item that
is now disabled through Item Stages including what was previously mentioned;
- - The entire fire Dragonsteel set except for the sword.
- - The entire ice Dragonsteel set except for the sword.
- - Both Immolation Blades from Wither Skeleton Tweaks.
- - The Seeker Bow from Twilight Forest.
- - The entire Diving Set from Shipwrecks.
- - The Blowgun and Darts from Mowzie's Mobs.
- - All Netherite related items from Future MC.
- - The Lighting Updater, Invisible Item, and Disappearing Spawner from Depths of Madness. These in particular are to prevent crashes when in Creative mode.
- - The entire Tartarite set except for the chestplate.
~ Some of these items can still show up in game, however they cannot be picked up or used by the player and even if they somehow end up in your inventory,
the game will display a message saying they're disabled. I wanted to target items that either weren't in use, were so bad to the point of needing to be
removed, or so broken that this was the best way to go about it. The Tartarite items in particular needed to go because they became so much more powerful in
the wake of Dragonsteel being gone that none of the items except for the chestplate can reasonably stay in the game. I am aware the chestplate is strong, but
the reason it's staying is due to the fact that Tartarite in it's entirety shouldn't be disabled and it's easily the best Haderoth combined item. Seriously,
it saves so much time during a run not having to craft fire potions 24/7.
- There is now a scripts folder, which is required for Item Stages to work. Place it in the same spot where you place the music folder.
- The notes that you should read before playing have been updated to account for the scripts folder.
- Added Game Stages and Craft Tweaker, both are dependencies for Item Stages.
- The Crown of Rule is being buffed to now have 10 armor protection, 5 armor toughness instead of 3 and 2, and 1000 durability. This item sorta flew under
my radar while I was buffing Death.
- The Golden Heart and Orb of Absorption can no longer repair the Tartarite chestplate. The most viable method to repair it now is Mending.
- Moon Acolytes now drop up to 2 crystals.
- The cross between the magic of the Aurorian and Twilight Forest were actually much closer than one would think. After the fall of humanity, beings from
both dimensions took interest in each other, for a time creating a flourishing economy and ecosystem between the two. Though this can't be found today, there
are still remnants of the old trades between the dimensions. The Moon Queen for instance, despite her best efforts failing to protect the Aurorian at large
from the magic drainage, found solace after the fact in trading amongst the denizens of the Twilight. It's said that in her time of visiting, the Moon Queen
and Snow Queen actually met and exchanged a great conversation together. Though what most of what they said is lost to time today, the Moon Queen accepted a
gift from the Snow Queen that she grew quite fond of. Don't you feel bad killing her now? You're taking home the Moon Queen's Moonworm Queen! How rude.
- On the other hand of the gifting between royalty, it's said the Moon Queen had some trouble coming up with the perfect gift for the Snow Queen. After all,
there aren't any ice or snow based items found within the Aurorian itself. In time, she came up with an idea. While the Moon Queen took in the Moonworm, the
Snow Queen accepted a rather unique gift. Stashed away in the Moon Queen's armory was a shield she no longer used, the Ceruclase Shield! It protects the user
in a casing of ice, capable of cushioning fall damage. Although that second part meant nothing to the Snow Queen as she can fly, she was delighted
nonetheless and gleefully took in this gift from her new ally. Don't get any bright ideas from this though. The only way you're getting the actual shield
the Moon Queen uses is through the Moonlight Forge.
- As experience weaves itself into the earth, it pushes down, down, and further down. Still easily obtainable but feeling just a bit more out of reach,
the minimum y-level for experience ore is now 20, closer to...the void. Hmm. A bit concerning.
- Sea Serpent attack scaling has been buffed from 3.0 to 3.2. Would you believe me if I told you it can't go above or near 3.5 because it would make them do
hundreds of damage? Even 3.2 attack scaling in testing led to absurd damage!
- Filch Lizards are disabled. They're like the pixies of the desert, always stealing something out of your inventory. Very annoying.
- Max dragon attack strength is being buffed from 35 to 38.
- Max dragon fire breath attacking scaling is being buffed from 5 to 5.5.
- The damage reduction of every piece of Haderoth armor has been nerfed to 2, except for the chestplate. The chestplate has been nerfed to 3. This is before
accounting for Metamorph.
- The void fog now shows up in Creative.
- Because of the existence of Experience Ore, the levels for Uncrafting have gone up slightly, now at minimum requiring 20 levels instead of 15 and the max
level being 25 instead of 20.
- Some of the Sleeping Overhaul sleep vote text has been deleted.
- Even though they were already disabled a while ago, the Freshwater Eel from Better Animals Plus was added to the Bad Mobs list.
- Battletowers cannot spawn in the void...anymore? They never showed up in there to begin with, but it was enabled??? Ok?
- Some of the options to turn off Netherite in FutureMC's config that I missed have been disabled now.
- Armor Stands are now disabled. This might seem like a strange choice at first, BUUUT after looking around for so long, I found out that the invisible text
in the Final Castle is spawned by an invisible armor stand. By making it so they don't spawn, that text is now gone! I have been wanting to figure that out
for an ungodly amount of time.
- The notes that should be read before playing have been updated to account for the loss of Armor Stands.
~ Side note, while the text in the Final Castle may be gone, you'll still find signs in some of the areas of the castle. These were left by The Monarch, it
seems like he had higher plans for the structure, almost like setting up little minigames for those who could make it there. "Mini-boss 1, unique monster?,
gives talisman", with two of them listed as "parkour areas". Little did The Monarch know that in the wake of his absence, the true unique monsters and mini
bosses to stick around were the Adherents and Harbinger Cubes all along. The Giants like visiting the place too, it's very accommodating for their size.
- Some changes are being made to the Mowzie's Mobs bosses to rebalance them a bit;
- - Barako and Frostmaw have been slightly tweaked.
{Barako - Attack Scaling: 1.0 -> 3.0. Health scaling: 1.0 -> 2.0.}
{Frostmaw - Attack Scaling: 1.0 -> 2.3. Health scaling: Remains the same.}
These changes aim to make Barako more midgame focused and Frostmaw slightly more endgame focused, though I can't tweak Frostmaw's damage too high or else he
could one shot you randomly in endgame armor.
- - Barako now drops a spear. This spear has the attack strength of a Netherite spear but the attack speed of a iron spear from more modern Minecraft
versions.
- - The Sol Visage dropped from Barako now has 4 armor protection instead of 2 and 3 armor toughness to be better than a diamond helmet. This is not meant
to replace armor you'll have at this stage of the game, but moreso something fun to mess around with.
- The drop chance of the Dreaded Queen's blade has gone down from 2% to 0.05%.
- All in relation to optimization, a number of mods were added;
- - Texfix Mod
- - Entity Culling Mod
- - Particle Culling Mod
- - Mixinbooter Mod
- Updated the Task Book to include the Questing Ram's location.
- Updated the Task Book to have more correct terminology for the King's Crown, correcting "empowered King's Crown" to "cursed King's Crown" being the more
proper name for the Skeleton King's summoning item.
- Updated the Task Book to account for the Fire Dragon attack buff, which means the stage 5 dragons have the potential to be stronger than the Skeleton King.
- One thing I've noticed in the End is that mobs that spawn in there seem to have bad entity tracking range, making me have to fiddle with my render distance
just to farm Enigmoths. With the Entity Distance mod now included, that should now be a thing of the past both for me and anyone else playing! Hopefully.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for Item Stages.
