Exploration and Fantasy 1.6.zip (Kobold Uprising Update)
What's new
- Added the Bad Mobs mod. After the Final Boss Kobold was appointed to be the guard to watch over the Final Castle, all was calm for a while. However, not
too soon after The Monarch's strange decision, unrest began to grow amongst those left in the castle; "WHY A KOBOLD?" "AM I NOT GOOD ENOUGH IN THE MONARCH'S
EYES?" "THE BLASTED FOOL LEFT A WEAKLING ON THE THRONE!" Thoughts like these circulated constantly, especially among the Adherents until the Kobold had
enough. Despite not even being granted any actual strength outside of their HP, the Kobold took after The Monarch, visiting the other major locations and
draining some magic from each of the other bosses, silently but assuredly wiping out the other Kobolds it came across. Now, the Final Boss Kobold stands as
the only Kobold left in the Twilight Forest, having left a terrifying mark on its other castle denizens. In its wake, it even managed to drive out all the
Castle Guardians and Roving Cubes, which is why they no longer show up in the castle. In the Kobold's travels though, it acquired items that should prove
rather useful to you. These are items that in its eyes, is even more powerful than the Cube of Annihilation. Should you ever die, the Charm of Keeping 3
will fully protect your inventory and return all your items to you and the Charm of Life 2 is basically a Totem...single uses only though! It also drops
Fiery Blood to represent the burning hot tenacity this Kobold had on its ascent to new power.
- you know what, I'm not even gonna mention when I write in the project and file IDs of new mods, you already know the deal.
- There's secret tracks now, all of which are only accessed in certain places, never to be made available through the in-game playlist.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for where CurseForge users should place the music folder.
- Dragons can spawn too close to the world spawn and this is something I've noticed for quite some time now, and although this is something I should've
changed, I just didn't for some reason? Dragons now spawn 400 blocks away from the world spawn rather than 200, to be more fair on the player.
In my testing, with Optifine installed, you'd need to have your render distance up to Extreme (32 chunks away) at minimum to see a dragon spawn in and attack
you now, versus 200, where you could see a dragon right at spawn with 10+ Normal render distance, which is a render distance most people should play at for
the game to be comfortable.
- The Bow Damage Tweaker arrow sound effect has been disabled, it was kinda annoying.
- Lanterns now drop the Phosphorus Lantern.
- Added the Experience Ore mod. Experience is a mysterious force. Much like life itself, it's encompassed within every living being. It comes as no
surprise that as it manifests itself upon death, it imbues itself into the very ground that many walk upon, forming as an ore that seeps into the many
crevices of the land. Perhaps this ore is a distant cousin to sculk? Who knows? Go mine some, it's a great alternative to mob grinding, a full stack of the
ore will net you around 34 levels! This change is being made as I don't want players sitting around a mob grinder 24/7 and although I personally like mob
grinders, I understand the stigma around it.
- The Boss List has been deleted. In its place, the Checklist mod has been added, craft the new Task Book with a book and one piece of Soul Sand and it lays
out the entirety of where every boss in the game is located. You can either leave everything in the book unmarked or manually check off when you kill a boss
off yourself throughout your playthrough.
- For the longest time, the caves of the Aurorian were dormant, not much life breathed through them except for the Disturbed Hollow, hit directly by the
massive magic drainage that changed the Nether. However, recently, mushrooms have been growing inside of the caves, creating pockets where they thrive and
grow in places where they once did before.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for the task book.
- Twilight Forest Deer now drop antlers and venison from Better Animals Plus.
- Aurorian Pigs now drop regular porkchops.
- The Knight Armor from The Aurorian is very weak, weaker than Iron and the leggings by default were better than the chestplate. The armor is being buffed
to be better than Iron but worse than Diamond. On top of that, the armor set is unique from others in terms of it having NO armor toughness, still requiring
you to upgrade it as soon as you can;
- - The Knight Helmet's protection was buffed from 1 to 3.
- - The Knight Chestplate's protection was buffed from 2 to 7.
- - The Knight Legging's protection was buffed from 3 to 6.
- - The Knight Boots remain the same.
- Added the Experience Bug Fix mod. Experience going away when you dimension hop is really annoying.
- While the other bows feel like they're in a decent spot, the Onyx bow in particular is still really strong, therefore it will be cut to a 5th of its
strength. The Mythril bow will receive this change as well.
- Aurorian Steel is mostly fine, it's mostly the best gear in the Aurorian, so what gives? The enchant leveling mechanic. It's drastically weak, requiring
100 uses of any given item in the set and scaling by 1.75 each time. On paper, it may seem like this is equilibrium for what the mechanic does, but in this
modpack, it's really not. The amount of uses per item to upgrade an enchant in the Aurorian Steel set has been reduced from 100 to 20, and the scaling has
been reduced from 1.75 to 1.0, meaning it will consistently stay at 20 uses rather than going up at all. Note that while this change could lead to enchant
cheesing, it does not work with Mending.
- The Aurorian is easier to finish than the Twilight Forest, therefore the Fiery Armor is being buffed to be better than the Aurorian Steel set, as a better
precursor to hunting dragons in normal progression. The helmet now has 5 armor protection instead of 4 and every piece of Fiery armor now has 492 durability
and 3 armor toughness.
- Every piece of Aurorian Steel armor has 470 durability now.
- In an attempt to dethrone Ice and Fire a bit more in this modpack, The Blade of The Dreaded Queen and Death are having their damage values swapped, now
making Death the strongest weapon in the game outside of anything gimmicky like the Glass Sword. Death now has 24 attack damage and the Dreaded Queen's
blade now has 22.
- The Blade of The Dreaded Queen now has a 2% drop chance from Ice Dragons instead of 1% to make up for the attack damage loss.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for recommended modpack progressions and the secret tracks.
- Osvermis are bony worm-like creatures found in the Overworld deserts that aren't too difficult to deal with. They seem to be lesser followers of the
Skeleton King and even drop shards that allow you to summon the King to you. What happens when their souls drift down to hell after they die? Osvermis
Spiritus are born. They used to be in similar power to their more..."lively" variants, though have grown in strength lately. Variants of the Blaze and
Creeper, Festive Creepers and Blazing Juggernauts, ruled the Nether and aided in driving out humanity to the brink of their extinction. Because of this,
they were in a similar situation to the dragons of old where they were the apex predators that still existed in the current day Nether. However, Osvermis
Spiritus have risen in power, wiping out the Juggernauts, Festives, and even a great number of Wither Skeletons, to the point where they actively
carry around their skulls and fragments of them. They appear far more frequently in the Nether now, and may give you a run for your money if you aren't
careful.
- Minotaurs now drop TNT to make up for the very fortunate loss of Festive Creepers.
- The Golden Heart can no longer repair the Strange Meat.
- None of the SimpleOres armor sets or tools have a reason to be in the game, therefore all the sets have been disabled. The bows are still enabled.
- The Snow Queen now has a 100% drop chance on the Tri-Bow. I wouldn't have considered doing this beforehand, HOWEVER, the bow has not only been nerfed but
the Seeker Bow is by far one of the worst, if not the worst weapon in the game as the homing on the arrow straight up barely works.
- As quickly as you discovered the Void dimension, it seems to be gone now...what implications does this hold where an entire realm can be accessed one day
and gone the next? Perhaps this means that in a short amount of time, the world somehow stabilized itself, or maybe it holds a darker meaning. I couldn't
really tell you...Void Eyes no longer drop the igniter for the portal though. In its place, they drop...bedrock? Can you even do anything with that? Where
did they get that from?
- Better Animals Plus Lampreys now drop lamprey meat from Fish's Undead Rising.
- On one hand, I like the Hydras from Ice and Fire being rare. They are easily the best boss for encouraging exploration. does that mean they should only
spawn one in every 170 chunks. no. i'm so tired man. one in every 120 chunks now.
- Enigmoths are still a bit laggy. To further combat this;
- - Enigmoth scale potion clouds have been disabled.
- - Enigmoth scale spread reduced from 2 to 1. Tamed ones have been reduced from 3 to 2.
- - Enigmoth set height limit reduced from 16 blocks to 6.
- Because the Myrmex Queens can take a while to lay an egg, both variants now drop both versions of their eggs. It's kinda like how both of the Sludge Lord
variants drop Mossy Sticks.
- Updated the notes that should be read before playing to account for Experience Ore.
