Description
Draconic Descent is an RPG modpack with an emphasis on Dragon Survival.
This means that most of the custom content is centered around that mod, and that playing as a human will deprive you of that content.
If you don't want to be a dragon, then look for another modpack! There are plenty of other better RPG modpacks floating around.
Additionally, the modpack is not fully finished. Some parts of it might be unpolished or use placeholder stuff.
Features:
- A custom skill tree to facilitate progression.
- 52 custom dragon abilities across nine elements. Combined with the available standard dragon survival abilities, you have access to 63 total dragon abilities.
- Two end-game dimensions to put your builds to the test.
- New content planned, including a simple gear upgrading system and "mastery" skill trees for each element.
Specifics:
- The modpack is centered around exploring underground.
- The deeper you go, the more dangerous and varied monsters you encounter.
- You do not start with the ability to fly, but can earn your wings by defeating minibosses in the deepest layer of the overworld.
- The nether is harder than the deepest overworld layer, and the end is more difficult than that.
- Eternal Starlight is a mid-game dimension, which can be turned into an endgame uber-level by using a certain item in the overworld.
- The Radiation Zone is the other end-game dimension. It might not actually work well, I haven't playtested it extensively yet.
Lore Blurb:
Long ago, the power of flight was stolen from dragon-kind by a vengeful god.
Dragon civilization managed to briefly settle their differences to strike back against this deity.
The god was banished to the deepest parts of the world, eventually succumbing to the void's draining energies.
In the modern day, ambitious dragons descend and fight through the underground to recover what was once theirs.
