What's new

  • Cobble City RPG 1.0 is out of beta. All nine regions are playable in a line, from Kanto through Paldea, then the post-game. Start a new world with this version: the terrain, villages, quests and trainer progress all changed. There is also a server pack for this version.
  • Fixed quests that never completed after the first trainer. Only the first trainer of each series was ever counted (beating Brock completed his quest, but Misty's, and everyone after, never did). Every trainer now counts, and the quest book is set to Flexible progression so you can beat trainers before finishing the quest ahead of them. Please start a NEW WORLD with this update: worlds from earlier versions keep their old quest and advancement progress, so trainers you already beat may never be credited. (If you must keep a world, use /advancement revoke @s only cobblecity:defeat/<series> and beat the trainers again.) If your quest book still says Default (Linear) progression after updating, close the game and replace config/ftbquests with the one from the pack.
  • Brock now gives a Badge Box (to keep your badges in) instead of a Sun Stone for beating him.
  • "Defeat <trainer>" tasks have proper icons. Gym leaders show their badge; every other trainer shows a Premier Ball instead of the blank wheat icon.
  • Gyms, towns and villages are spaced further apart (the 0.1.6 change packed them in too tightly). Pokémon towns, Poké Marts, Poké Centers and the Pokémon villages (including the large one with the department store) come up more often than in the first spacing change, and villages are about 30% of what generates. Applies to newly explored chunks.
  • Fixed a garbled "Pokédex" character in the message when a locked region sends you back to the Hub.
  • The Hub Stone quest completes by itself when you first enter the overworld, so you know to open it and claim your stone.
  • Pokémon loot in more chests. Terralith's outposts, castle villages, mage towers and spires, Structory and Structory Towers, and the Artifacts campsites now carry Cobblemon items too.
  • No snow in Kanto. The overworld no longer generates snowy taiga, snowy plains, ice marsh, siberian taiga or the Yellowstone hot springs. Snowy peaks and slopes are replaced too (stony peaks, granite cliffs and spires stay). Applies to new worlds.
  • New biome mixes for every region world, following each game's geography (Johto landlocked and forested, Hoenn and Alola mostly sea, Sinnoh split by alpine peaks, Paldea one block of land around a central crater biome, and so on). Existing worlds keep their old terrain; start a new world to see it.
  • Far less ocean in the Kanto overworld. Tectonic's ocean setting is raised so the spawn area is mostly land, with shallow seas instead of vast deep ones. New worlds only.
  • No vanilla tutorial popups. New players start with the tutorial marked as finished.
