Description
(Work in Progress, all feedback is welcome)
The aim of this modpack is to create a version of the game that feels complete and with some extra flavor, while also adding QoL changes and trimming filler content. Certain features from future versions have been backported and possibly more will follow in the future.
What this mod is not:
- An attempt to strip down the game to its bare essentials
- An attempt to make only one playstyle viable or limit player agency
- An attempt to prioritize nostalgia over a complete gameplay experience
The biggest additions this modpack currently adds:
- Et Futurum Requiem (Single-handedly made this modpack possible)
- Vertical slabs, stripped logs, and concrete
- Certain Redstone components from future versions (Observers, Iron Trapdoors, target blocks, etc)
- Balkon's Weaponmod (Greater variety of weapons)
- Cartload (Minecarts can load chunks)
- Craftable gunpowder
- A tool to move chests
- Dynamic lights (Holding torches produces light)
- Improved enchanting system (With an extra tier of enchantment table that takes the randomness out of enchanting at the cost of more XP)
- Significantly cheaper and more forgiving anvils
- Some performance improving mods
- A new randomly-generated structure
- Gravestones (Your items are safely stored on death)
- Hardcore darkness (No background light, meaning you won't be able to see anything at night)
- Significant improvements to cave generation (Welcome back Spaghetti-caves, huge credit to TheMasterCaver, this modpack would not have ever been made without him)
- Revamped terrain generation (Default terrain is still an option in the world creation setting of course)
- More storage space in Ender chests
- Trees can be chopped completely just by breaking the lowest log with an axe (Feels somewhat non-vanilla but it's too much of a good QoL change to not include, plus it makes bigger trees not annoying)
- Removes void fog
- Not Enough Items (Recipe browser)
- Gunpowder can be placed and ignited
- Rotten Flesh to Leather (Of course)
- Improved mob AI (Zombies and Creepers will seek to destroy light sources, among other things)
- Xaeros World Map (Felt the minimap was too intrusive, but am open to adding it later)
- Better Boats
- Dropped saplings plant themselves instead of despawning
Potential Future Additions:
- 1.14 villager mechanics, to take randomness out of villager trading/reducing the grind for perfect villagers
- Improved Minecarts, to make transportation more viable
- Angelica, for performance improvements
- A mod that improves pick-block functionality
- Continental World Generation (Similar to pre-1.7 worldgen, but with slightly smaller oceans)
- Functional Grindstones
Known Issues:
- Poor performance, especially when it comes to new chunk generation, my next addition will be Angelica once I get the crash issues sorted
- Attempting to craft a Gravestone will cause a crash. Cause unknown.
- Composters can't be fed nor emptied with hoppers and Target blocks are non-solid, will contact EFR team to see if that and certain observer quirks can be fixed
- Players can get become temporarily stuck on lanterns if they attempt to walk on them.
- Occasionally upon loading a world, an Ender Dragon/Wither Boss healthbar will appear at the top of the screen for a few seconds. This is a purely graphical bug and has no effect on gameplay, cause unknown.
- Pockets of air blocks generating in oceans, cause unknown.
- Vertical and horizontal slabs can't be crafted into each other (Will add recipes for this soon)
- Some graphical issues when reloading certain chunks when playing in a world with RTG enabled
- RTG can also cause some more lag than usual if playing with less than 6-8 GB of allocated RAM
This is a work in progress, all feedback is welcome. None of these mods were made by me, all credit goes to their creators. Thank you for playing my modpack!
