IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
Due to not having uploaded the modpack originally back in 2020 like was supposed to (alongside the Category Testing Fabric modpack). I have 2 packs now.
1.The original pack, all it's 1.16-1.16.3 files archived of the pack. (compared builds in modlist below)
THIS ARCHIVE OFFERS THE ORIGINAL WITH ENCHANT WITH MOB in general (forget if there was a replacement or not), Resourceful Tools 1.16.3 as only 1.16.5 exists, RING OF GROWTH AND OTHERS for 1.16.3 as only 1.16.5 builds exist ALONG WITH OLDER BUILDS, the Ring mods and Enchant with Mob and others won't be approved by Curseforge, so add them from this original pack to the modern one if you want or just use the original how it was intended.

Screenshots of 'Modern Category Testing Forge With Missing Mods Of Original Pack That Can Not Be Approved 1 to 6" are just that, the Modern pack but adding the lost mod builds of the Ring mods, Enchant with Mob and Resourceful Tools for 1.16.3 of the original pack I can not approve and moving them over to the modern pack, showing that they do work (compared to other testing with alternatives at least).
2.A modern version (as the original was and won't ever be approved with the 1.16.3 Enchant Mobs, Resourceful Tools or Ring mods builds, so you can try the original or move those mods over to the modern if you want) using the latest builds (any based on compatibility, it took a long time to sort out each one, did I need to bother for a pack like this no, but I wanted to take on the challenge XD) for 1.16.3 and is missing some mods (Ring of Growth/others like it, Resource Tools, Enchant with Mob [I think got removed and combined with something else or completely removed] and a few others listed at the mod list below) but has alternatives as close as can get currently.
Welcome to Category Testing a modpack that adds various types of mods covering tech, building, magic, redstone. The pack is intended for not only providing a good variety of content/tweaks but also for testing stability of mods.
The pack was created prior to Sep 13th 2020 and for some reason got misplaced. In Jan 23rd 2025 after looking over projects I noticed it wasn't released and felt the need to release it. Problem is many mods are now removed or un-downloadable so I've salvaged whatever I can and added other mods to fit in as well.
For Technology mods there is Planttech 2 for having a mix of machines and plant logic (a focus on solar power, crossbreeding seeds, tools/armour), Tubes Reloaded for Item transport and filtering for item storage, Item Transports for wireless item transport blocks.
For building mods there is 'dustrial Decor for Industrial design blocks, Premium wood for different trees/wood choices (along with tools), Connected Glass for more glass blocks options, Compressium for compressed versions of blocks to 9 which is useful for storage but could be for building. Construction Blocks for adding coloured variants of wooden fences, buttons, pressure plates, walls, slabs, stairs, and block types like bricks, concrete and more along with new blocks like a Cone Barrerl, a Caution block, Rollers, Tile Blocks and Dye Colour blocks.
For Magic there is Ars Nouveau with spells, armour, wands and research.
For Redstone mods there is Redsdtone Extras with pulse, resistor, daytime sensor, redstone tube, directional pieces for straight/bender//tee and more.
For miscellaneous mods (Tools, armour, food and more) there is Azure Doom's Chunk Loader for loading chunks while your busy, Bad Beacon for a negative beacon, Bobacraft and Food Pouches for food options, Brick Furnace for a different design/other material furnace/smoker/blast furnace to craft, Bridge Maker for a block to allow for pillars or drawbridges, Building Gadgets & Mining Gadgets for assisting with building or mining using special tools and upgrades, ring mods for crop growth, teleportation, portable enderchest access, returning home and tool/armour repair and more.
For mods that don't add content there is Aim Assistance for assistance/a stronger focus on a particular block, JEI for cheating in/viewing recipes, Harvest to right click crops, or differences to Vanilla blocks like with Dangerous Stone Cutter for tweaking the Stonecutter so they harm mobs/players, and more,

Replacement mods in modern version:

Potion Rings is a bonus mod (crashed with all 3 Curios API builds I tried and would have to work around/narrow down more mods so removed)
Ceramics is replacing the tools from Resourceful Tools
Compressionism is a bonus with it's crop blocks
Compressium has similar blocks and is already part of the pack for the rest
