Description

Boldly Going

A continuation of the 1.12 version of The Beardy Penguin's To Boldly Go 2, aiming to allow those with existing worlds to continue them, while also providing bugfixes and eventually adding features planned for the original pack.

The name was inspired by chase_mk's Boldly Going, with permission taken from them. It is ill-advised to install Optifine in this pack, as there are already a few performance and bug fix mods in the pack, as well as a zoom mod.

The description from the original To Boldly Go 2 is as follows.

Sci-Fi Exploration

A science fiction modpack with few clutter mods, so it can run smoothly and still be exciting. Built around the Thermal suite, Advanced Rocketry (including full solar system and asteroid configs) and the Just Stargate Mod. Vanilla portals are disabled, so the only way to reach the nether is with an early single-use stargate that requires a LOT of power. With the further addition of Biomes o' Plenty, Atum 2 and The Midnight, there are a plethora of new worlds and dimensions to boldly go and explore!

 

Technology and Automation

Enjoy just enough mods to build up an industrial base and construct tools to aid you in the effort to explore the final frontier. Vanilla enchantments are disabled, but fan favourites such as Tinkers, RFTools and Thermal allow you to do anything without the need for magic. A serious focus was put on trimming the pack down so there aren't an overwhelming number of complex mods to learn or more than one way to achieve the same goal. All duplicate ores, ingots and materials have been removed from crafting recipes and world generation. New resources and recipes have been added to make exploring the moon and other planets an interesting and rewarding endeavour. A number of quality of life mods such as Quark and Inventory Tweaks are also included.
