A nostalgic beginner-friendly modpack with automation, magic, and adventure

Description

Modpack Title

Blossom of Gaia is a modpack that expands the automation, magic and sandbox aspects of Minecraft.

It aims to integrate all of it's mods together in one nostalgic, simple (at least for modpack standards) and lightweight experience. (2-3GB of allocated RAM to Minecraft recommended)

Features and Tweaks

How it's designed:

  • Features multiple nostalgic mods that complement each other, similarly to Tekkit
  • Multiple quality of life features added and backported
  • All mods are made useful for where they are placed in progression
  • Features and visuals are tweaked to be more vanilla-like
  • (Almost) every undocumented feature is now documented in the Lexica Botania and in the Achievements menu

Okay, but what does it add?

  • Beta-like reworks to vanilla features (hunger and villages)
  • Buildcraft - Machines to automate building and mining + pipes that transport items and fluids
  • Railcraft - An expansion to minecarts and rails, including cart linking and a steam locomotive
  • Project Red - New redstone components and redstone wires that go up walls
  • Botania - Elven magic with flowers used for automating tasks and magical tools
  • Thaumcraft - Alchemy, spellcasting, steampunk devices, and small golems that work for you
  • Archimedes' Ships - Fully custom multi-block airships (and regular ships)
  • ComputerCraft - Fully functional in-game computers
  • Two new dimension with new dungeons and bosses (The Aether & The Twilight Forest)
  • Backported modern features from 1.8-1.16 (nether biomes, ocean monuments, etc)
  • Dimensional Doors - Eldritch dungeons and pocket dimensions
  • More storage options, including portable storage
  • Chisel - More building block variants
  • Primitive/Wild Mobs - New mobs and animals
  • A simple skyblock mode enabled by using the "Garden of Glass" world type

Tweaks to Mods:

  • Multiple features, textures and models were backported or remade
  • Better integration between mods in general
  • Rebalanced items to better fit progression
  • Tons of bug fixes
  • Reworked loot tables

Tweaks to Vanilla:

  • New stamina bar over hunger bar, deplenishing when running and replenishing when still/walking or eating
  • Health is recovered instantly when eating food, like in beta Minecraft
  • Anvils can repair unenchanted items without using XP
  • Some food items will give you buffs when eaten
  • New simple underground biomes (backported from Quark's 1.12.2 release)
  • 1 block travelled in the Nether = 1 block in the overworld, instead of 8
  • Villages are gone, you are now incentivized to make your own town using craftable spawn eggs
  • You can now parry projectiles with swords! Just time a sword block well and arrows will bounce right off

There are plans to add more content/tweaks to the pack
(assuming that it does decently well (and that i'm not working on something else) )

I spent way too much time on this thing. Hope you enjoy it!
