Description

AYUQuest is a modpack designed by the AYU crew-- a team of YouTubers who produce multiplayer content together. As long-time Minecraft fans, we wanted to branch out into a modded series, but discovered we prefer a more balanced approach to the game rather than a modpack focused on pure challenge. Thus, AYUQuest was born.
The basic philosophy behind this pack is to provide a world (or several) of adventure that can be explored at one's whim, while still allowing players to create a safe home to come back to at the end of the day. Thus, the overworld tends to be a fairly place safe to explore during daylight hours (barring the occasional dragon's nest), with pockets of adventure-- dungeons and other challenges scattered throughout the world. But, the farther you venture from your home dimension, the more danger you may find yourself in. Dimensions such as Atum, the Blue Skies worlds, and the Twilight Forest can be much more hazardous-- and even the Nether and End have gotten an upgrade. The worlds are full of perils-- but, if you so desire to, you may carve out a little niche in it for yourself, that you may return home after a long day and enjoy a cup of tea by a nice warm fire.

As we are all builders and animal enthusiasts, the pack also includes a number of decorative mods to provide ample choice for decorating your build, and a number of creatures that roam the world (some friendlier than others) that can be tamed, challenged, or simply observed. The Soulbound mod was originally developed for this pack, to provide a way to safeguard one's beloved pets against the perils of the world, thus making them move viable adventuring buddies-- because who wants to take on the world alone?
Speaking of adventuring buddies, why not take on the pack together with a friend or two-- or three or four, or even more? AYUQuest was originally developed to be played collaboratively on a multiplayer server, and we use Shockbyte for all our server hosting needs! With the code LAUNCH, you can get 25% off your first month of service with them, and what's more, by using the affiliate link below, you can support me too and help ensure that I'm able to keep creating new mods and managing packs like this one.
Watch the Series on YouTube:
AYUQuest was originally designed to be played in a series on YouTube! The series centers on exploration and adventure as we play through the modpack, along with a story woven together through roleplay by the players themselves. Watch the trailer for my series here-- and find links to the other AYU members' playthroughs and first episodes below!

FAQ (please read before reporting an issue!):
My game crashed on launch!
Please attempt to relaunch it. This pack occasionally crashes once on start-up, but should load fine the next time. If crashes persist, please check to make sure Curse hasn't attempted to install Magnesium. The project is set up to use Rubidium, which is functionally the same (but newer) and will conflict with it, but due to certain mod setups, sometimes Curse gets a little confused. If Magnesium is installed, simply remove it by pressing the trash can next to the mod listing in your Curseforge launcher.
The Turtlemancy guidebook has an error on the front page!
I know. This is due to the Shell of Encapsulation being disabled in this pack. Although useful, the shell does not at this time provide any whitelist/blacklist features, which means that it can become unintendedly OP and create potential for griefing (i.e. allowing players to walk up to a wild stage 5 Ice and Fire dragon and simply pick it up). If you are comfortable with this for your own playthrough, it can be reenabled in the config. If you are running this pack on the server, reenable it at your own risk. If Turtlemancy adds a blacklist/whitelist at some point in the future, the shell will be reenabled.
Why is X feature disabled/different/etc?
Some features of various mods have been altered or disabled via their config files. This is to boost compatibility with other mods and balance the pack. If you have a question about why something doesn't seem to be enabled, feel free to open an issue in the issue tracker. Please make sure to check through closed issues to make sure your problem has not already been reported!
Why do I get an "Incompatible FML modded server" warning when trying to join an AYUQuest server with this pack?
AYUQuest contains a handful of client-side mods which are not included in the server pack. This is as it should be, as including client mods on a server will most likely crash it! However, Forge still sees this discrepancy when it compares the mod lists, and thus gives the warning. If you're still able to join and play without crashing, it most likely doesn't indicate an issue.
Can I use this modpack in a video?
We're using it for one, so go ahead! Please link back to this page if you do, though!
To the extent of my knowledge, all authors of the mods used in this pack allow for the use of their mods in videos. If you are a mod author and this is not the case, please feel free to reach out to me and let me know!
Can I redistribute this modpack?
You may share the link to this Curseforge page but I ask that you do not share the pack itself on any other site. Many of the mods in this pack disallow sharing outside the Curseforge ecosystem, and I also am uncomfortable with the idea of the pack being posted elsewhere.
