The fourth modpack for AoDRP. This one is using Minecraft 1.12.2

Description

This modpack was created for my gaming community as the fourth modpack created for it (not all packs I made are on this site.)

This modpack is a specific modpack made for my gaming community. It was intended for use on the servers run by my community, it was posted on curseforge to share it with my community members, and to the public. If you are not a member of AoDRP, and you wish to try this, the pack itself is public, but our servers are whitelisted. If you ARE a member of AoDRP, ask me to whitelist you on the servers.

I know this modpack may not appeal to all audiences, as it is a combination of styles, I cannot force you to play it. But, if you are in AoDRP, if you play this, please let me know.

I cannot think of more stuff to say in this description, it's not my forte (that's a real word, if you don't know what it means, you can find the definition at https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/forte#English ).

UPDATED TO PROVIDE EXTRA INFO

WARNING: This modpack tends to have a lag problem, even with MANY performance boosting mods. I only fixed the lag issue by using the MultiMC Launcher with this. If you get heavy lag, import this modpack into MultiMC, install Optifine to the modpack profile in MultiMC, and then apply the following java options

-XX:+DisableExplicitGC -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:+UseParNewGC -XX:+UseNUMA -XX:+CMSParallelRemarkEnabled -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -XX:MaxGCPauseMillis=30 -XX:GCPauseIntervalMillis=150 -XX:+UseAdaptiveGCBoundary -XX:-UseGCOverheadLimit -XX:+UseBiasedLocking -XX:SurvivorRatio=8 -XX:TargetSurvivorRatio=90 -XX:MaxTenuringThreshold=15 -Dfml.ignorePatchDiscrepancies=true -Dfml.ignoreInvalidMinecraftCertificates=true -XX:+UseFastAccessorMethods -XX:+UseCompressedOops -XX:+OptimizeStringConcat -XX:+AggressiveOpts -XX:ReservedCodeCacheSize=2048m -XX:+UseCodeCacheFlushing -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=2000 -XX:ParallelGCThreads=10

These options may not work well for all people, if they do not work, try to find some that suit your needs, or adjust these ones for your computer

END OF UPDATE

Onto the mod list

Magic Bees

RFTools

Minetweaker3 (CraftTweaker Variant)

Modtweaker2

Below is the basic abilities and impact on experience for the above mods

The following mods add custom dimension creation

Mystcraft

RFTools

These 2 mods are different, but can be used to make dimensions of ANY block or liquid the mod supports. A fair warning though: Do NOT use the liquid yellorium and liquid cyanite from big reactors. They do NOTHING. I included Minetweaker3 and Modtweaker2 for a future update allowing Tinkers Construct smelteries to be able to convert those into the ingot and block yellorium and cyanite, this is NOT currently implemented by me, as I don't have a fixer script written yet.

The following mods add magic, such as binding items and spells

Blood Magic

Thaumcraft

Mods that add new ores

Tinkers Construct

Thermal Expansion

Thermal Dynamics

Thermal Foundation

IndustrialCraft 2

RFTools

**I do not know if this is all the mods. I will add more if needed

Each of these mods adds new ores. Each of the ores are used by their mods for crafting and other things.

The following mods add bees, and new trees

Forestry

Magic Bees

These mods are used for creating bee species, making new tree breeds, and for creating fruit trees. That's the basics of it.

The following mods add power to the game

IndustrialCraft 2

Minefactory Reloaded

Ender IO

Redstone Flux

These mods all add power and forms of electrical automation to the game.

The following mods add new crops and farming methods

AgriCraft

Magical Crops

Both of these mods are able to create different crops. Magical Crops can be used to get ores from crops. AgriCraft can improve on the rate you get crops, and is compatible with Magical Crops.

**Note: ! likely didn't cover EVERY mod in the pack.**

Features offered

**I cannot list EVERY feature, so I will list noteworthy ones**

Thaumcraft is probably the second hardest magic mod in this pack. It involves a custom set of crafting items, wands, aura nodes for powering the wands, wand focusing items that allow you to do stuff like portal into something, or shoot a fire bat at someone. There are also different types of research needed to unlock to progress in this mod, it takes quite some time to do, but can be very useful. Be  wary though, there is forbidden research, which gives you Warp, or, insanity. Warp can cause a LOT of tricks to be played on you by your character's mind. There is also a place called the 5th dimension, but you need to have unlocked the eldritch category to even UNLOCK it.  I'd go into further detail, but I'll let you see it for yourself

Mystcraft is designed in a way that you need ink from squids, and dimensional pages (you find these in dungeons or from villagers, and also in created dimensions) to craft dimensions from the pages using a specific type of table, the dimension is stored in a book, be careful with the book, if it is destroyed, and you have no linking book to that dimension made, the dimension is lost. Linking books are needed to get back to the overworld, if you don't have a linking book, it's VERY hard to get back to the overworld.

RFTools uses machines to create and sustain dimensions you create. They require items called "dimlets" to be made.  The dimensions CAN be unstable though, so be careful with how you craft them.  The machines use an energy called Redstone Flux, or RF.  You can find dimlets in dungeons, or in created rftools dimensions. This is the better mod for dimensional crafting, as you can make superflat worlds of all ore blocks, and that includes the mined versions that are crafted into blocks. you can also make worlds of all liquid (with the spawn area being PARTIALLY protected using blocks), using Ender IO, you could pump the liquid out of a liquid world using an Ender-Thermic pump, you need an Ender Tank to do that, i THINK that item was from either MineFactory Reloaded, or one of the Thermal mods (Thermal Dynamics/Foundation/Expansion). There are plenty of other blocks you can use for the worlds, but some draw a LOT OF RF, so, make sure your world has power! On a side note, you will also need a MineFactory Reloaded chunk loader at the location where the dimension power machine is, and where the power source is, along with the wires. If this is not done, the dimension will lose power and will kill you if you are in it.

Tinkers Construct adds new metals and tools, as I said before, the vanilla mining tools are disabled for use in mining. In fact, so are some of the mod tools. Shovels, pickaxes, axes, cannot mine unless they are from Tinkers Construct.  So you need to know how to use it before using this modpack.

Forestry adds new trees to the game, it also adds bees, magic bees adds more types of bees to Forestry. Obtaining new trees needs either beehives, or butterflies. Butterflies can be killed to get the pollen they had, which can be applied to other compatible trees. Rubber trees are NOT compatible with Forestry! Neither is the Silverwood tree, or the witchwood tree. To obtain the pollinated sapling, you need a specific item to see the pollinated leaves, then you need a grafter to obtain them. Pollination can be done by butterflies without killing them.

As I said before, Magical Crops can be used to get ores from crops. AgriCraft can improve on the rate you get crops, and is compatible with Magical Crops. When using Magical Crops, it's best  to use a watering can to speed up growth, normal bone meal won't work on it, as it has a special form of bone meal to use. The crops can be harvest automated with some items. The ores from the crops can be VERY helpful. HOWEVER, you need to craft the items from the essence dropped by the crops. **NOTE: THIS IS A MOD SPECIFIC DESCRIPTION BASED ON THE 1.7.10 EXPERIENCE I HAD. The updated version for 1.12.2 may differ. Will update if needed**

This covers what I can think of at the present time. If more info comes my way, I will update the description
