Description
An Oddity Odyssey is a 1.20.1 modpack for Forge, and it comes with 364 quests to help get the players acquainted with some mods they may not have used before. The quests are meant to help new and old players get a grasp on them faster and are filled with information on each part of a given mod. Uses four resource packs to add some flavor, don't forget to enable them.
Some examples include:
Bean's Backpacks, by Beansgalaxy;
Bean's backpacks is an odd storage solution! It allows you to quickly pick up and place backpacks full of different items, and they work more closely to a bundle than a traditional backpack mod. The mod also allows you to equip decorated pots and cauldrons for bulk storage and fluid storage respectively. Bean's Backpacks come in many varieties and can be trimmed like armor, as well as having unique backpacks like the Elytra Backpack and the Ender Backpack.
Weapon Master by ForsetCabiri;
Weapon Master is a mod that lets you make your own heavily customizable weapons. Picking from a choice of broadsword, rapier, scythe, and polearm, you can then level up the weapon to unlock new active abilities, passive abilities, and cosmetics to use with your weapon. You can increase the damage, speed, looting, and durability as you deal damage with it, so you can make it fit to suit your needs perfectly.
Legendary Survival Overhaul by legendary_workshop;
This mod adds temperature, thirst, body part health, and much more to the game, making the experience more difficult. You now need healing items to fix a broken limb, your health takes longer to regenerate, your hunger is slowly draining all the time, and you need clean and drinkable water sources. To balance out the difficulty, however, the mod Cardiac (SSKirillSS) allows enemies to drop health orbs that health you on death, and the mod Chainmailed (Sangre_BK) allows you to reinforce the armor you wear to protect yourself from even more damage.
Wizard's Reborn by Maxbogomol;
Wizard's reborn has it all! Infusion crafting, unique arcane items and enchantments, better potions and unique alchemy, fluid and steam transport, automation assistance, spells and a research system, and so much more. This mod offers a lot of new ways to interact with the game, such as stripping specific enchantments off an item, casting orbital strikes of void damage, or just making your whole base look as beautiful as you are.
Spelunkery by OrdanaryMods;
Revamps the whole cave system, head to toe. Spelunkery now makes you grind gems on a grinding stone to polish them, allows you to boil water to get salt to ward off the undead, to make magnets, parachutes, bedrock-breaking explosive devices, and more! Also changes the end to be filled with a tear in reality at the bottom, so instead of dying when you fall in the end, you just go home.
Relics by SSKirillSS;
Relics offers a ton of items that can be found while out exploring the world. These items will gain XP over time as you use them and grow with you, and with how many varieties there are, it allows for a lot of unique builds to exist. In combination with other mods, the curio slots may be sparse! Make sure to choose wisely.
Quality Foods by Cadentem;
Quality foods allow seeds, crops, and cooked dishes to be of a higher tier. When harvested, plants have a small chance of producing a crop that is better quality than it is, and these better crops have more food and water given when eaten, or when used in a dish they give it more food value. In combination with Farmer's Delight (vectorwing) you can focus on bringing large and nourishing dishes, instead of a mass supply of one food source.
Combat Nouveau by Fuzs;
Revamps the combat system! Potions are stackable, shields have a cooldown, projectiles no longer grant invulnerability, drinking liquids is faster, attack speed matters more, and you can not attack early, tiny enemies have bigger hitboxes, eating and drinking get interrupted when attacked, and much more. Combined with health orbs dropping and body part damage, this makes combat more about carefully taking out one foe at a time.
Exposure by mortuusars;
Allows you to take photos and then preserve a moment forever on a little slip of paper. You can place these in a book or frame to show them off, or use it to make a sign for your base and hang it up. Quests for this mod include taking a picture of all the wildlife, and so much dungeon searching for a little smirk.
And a lot more! The pack is full of mods, but not in a kitchen sink way, and is built mostly for performance, relaxing into a game, learning a bit, and just having fun at the end of the day. The first published version is basically a large test run, and a future update will add post-game quests for when you have finished everything else and need that final challenge to automate something, slay too many mobs, or just craft an absurd amount of an item.
