Description
The Alternate Gaming Community (AltGC) is a group of friends and gamers who (mostly) are or were fans and avid watchers of Pakratt and Honeyplays, originally started by AltBlu, a moderator of Pakratts chat and good friend. This pack was created for the AltGC Modded server, and has mods that were added and voted in or out by the main players of the server. This is the first custom pack for our server, and mainly includes mainstream mods in a lighter/ish pack than some others.
Among the many mods of the pack, here are some highlights.
Biomes O’ Plenty, a world generation mod, adds many new and colorful biomes to the minecraft overworld for the adventurer in us all. (has been tweaked so most of the world isn’t a frozen wasteland)
Thaumcraft, the main magic mod to turn to in minecraft, adds aspects to blocks and items that you then use to unlock research to create magical constructs to help you in your quest to be the best thaumaturge in the world!
Includes a multitude of thaumcraft addons to increase play-time, usability, and features!
Blood Magic, don’t worry, there isn’t (to) much blood in it. A mod centered off using your blood for rituals and crafting, although it doesn’t have to be YOUR blood.
Again, includes popular blood magic addons to increase the amount of content, integration with other mods, and dangers!
Botania, the third main magic mod, is focused mainly around the flowers that now cover the earth. (and yet you can’t find ONE MORE BROWN FLOWER) use flowers to create mana, this mods form of power, and shoot it around to different blocks for things from super potions to a portal to the realm of the Elves.*
*you can’t actually go to the realm of the Elves (yet) but can trade items with them through the portal.
Tinkers Construct, the mod that adds tools that are modifiable, that diamond pickaxe is now obsolete!
Thermal Expansion, one of many mods by team COFH in this pack, adds the ability to cook and grind your ores using a power system called Redstone Flux (RF for short) as well as transfer around items and liquids in cool tiered tube systems.
Also includes solar panels, jetpacks, and big reactors (literally!)
Apple core, Spice of Life, and Pams Harvest craft, to add some variety to the monotonous task of eating by making it necessary to eat more than just those cooked steak your automatically killing with lava.
Mine Factory reloaded for your factorial needs, allowing you to automate most vanilla and non-vanilla processes, cause nobody like to grind to make one thing, then need 500 more of them!
Forestry and some bee addons, I heard they were all the buzz back in 1.4/1.5
Applied energistics because with all these other mods, you aren’t going to be storing all your things in wooden chests and looking through EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM FOR ONE ITEM, you’re just going to search your entire base in one click.
