What's new

Two new MineColonies styles, experimental: still being tested in game, so some buildings may not work right yet and they will change in later versions. Bunker in particular is a first full draft. Pick them in the build tool like any other style.

Terravault (experimental)

A new MineColonies style: a city hanging in a flooded cave under a mountain.

  • Buildings hang around the cave's rock pillars: a deck with a bridge landing on each side, a tapered keel below with roots and lights, timber-framed houses with steep roofs, hangers up to the ceiling.
  • Every building has its own size and shape for its work: a 31×27 town hall with wings and a bell tower, a 29×23 cargo warehouse, a fisher's pier down to a dock on the lake, foundry and mill towers, a long sawmill, a forge with an open front, a glasshouse florist, a small four-way courier kiosk, and furnished interiors in all of them.
  • Every bridge landing, hut block, bed, rack and workstation is checked to be walkable for citizens.
  • Town hall, builder, residence, warehouse, fisher, tavern, farmer, lumberjack, miner (a stone shaft down through the lake), cook, hospital, smeltery, sawmill, stonemason, guard tower, deliveryman, blacksmith, mechanic, baker, fletcher, glassblower, dyer, sifter, crusher, concrete mixer, stone smeltery, kitchen, composter and florist; 5 levels each (tavern 3). Every worker hut hangs a sign of its trade under the deck, seen from boats (a lava cauldron under the blacksmith, strips of dyed wool under the dyer, a saw under the sawmill).
  • Levels follow the ages: Age I buildings are timber and stone with fence struts and torches, Age II brings chains, lanterns, copper roofs and Create windows, Age III Immersive Engineering treated wood and steel, Age IV quartz glass and end rods. Nothing at a level needs something the colony can't make yet.
  • Bridges (three lengths and a sloped one), a spiral stair around a pillar, a dock, a lift (ladder, then a Create elevator), hanging platforms and ceiling hangers, each in an Age I and an Age II version the builder can upgrade.
  • Buildings Terravault does not have yet fit best in Jungle Treehouse or Cavern.

Bunker (experimental)

A second new MineColonies style: a colony in a buried silo.

  • A shaft 75 across around a central pillar and a spiral stair, a round walkway on every floor, homes and workshops in the rock around it. Floors are 10 blocks apart and the stair turns 3/4 per floor, so one floor piece, turned a quarter each time, builds the whole shaft.
  • A Town Hall caps the shaft: a hall with tables, beds and a dark screen for "the view", and a concrete blockhouse on the surface. Two versions, one for flat ground and one with five more steps for uneven ground.
  • Floor sections come as a decoration (no citizen needed) or as a Guard Tower with the guard's room inside the pillar, in three looks by depth: Up Top, Mids and Down Deep.
  • Round core: the pillar, the spiral stair and its landings have their corners cut.
  • The buildings fill the whole floor out to the silo wall: four arms around the shaft, each with an inner slot whose door opens onto the walkway and an outer slot entered from a small vestibule; yellow doormats show where each building's door goes.
  • For the test run, also a residence (apartments on two storeys off a corridor with a stair) and a courier's depot with a tall parcel hall. Levels follow the ages like Terravault's; low levels stop short of the silo wall.
  • All the huts Terravault has, as Bunker buildings: builder, warehouse, tavern, hospital, canteen, farmer (a grow hall), lumberjack (a tree hall), fisher (a fish pond), miner (a mine head over its shaft), composter, florist, concrete mixer, blacksmith, mechanic, smeltery, baker, kitchen, glassblower, dyer, sawmill, fletcher, stonemason, stone smeltery, sifter and crusher. Workshops and homes have two storeys with their door on the walkway; the big halls sit in the outer slots.
  • Every building is closed (floor, walls and roof) and has a shop front: its name on a glowing sign over the door, its trade's block beside it, and a band in its trade group's colour.
  • The bottom floor, Mechanical: the shaft's floor becomes a machine floor with machine stacks round the pillar and a sump with a pump, from furnaces and pistons to Create and Immersive Engineering machinery by level.
  • The porters' stair: courier huts stacked in the same corner build a spiral stair at the back of the hall from level 3, connecting the floors above and below: a quick way up and down beside the silo wall.
  • Every building in two versions, straight (door on the walkway) and corner (its front along the open corner with windows facing the shaft); pick the one that fits where you place it.
  • The shaft's corners are open floor to ceiling, and the shaft is much better lit: posts all round the walkway, lamp posts in the corners, torches on the pillar, froglights in floors and pillar from level 4.
  • The rest of the huts: shepherd, cowhand, swineherd, chicken farmer and rabbit hutch (with pens), beekeeper (hives and a flower bed), plantation (sand rows with water), library, school, university, archery, combat academy, enchanter, graveyard, shrine (mystical site), nether gate (nether worker) and alchemist. Only the Barracks, stable, gatehouse and quarries are still missing.
  • Empty shells, straight or corner, one tall hall or two storeys, to build rooms of your own.

Fixes

  • Modern Companions' iron mail, light iron and medium iron boots can be crafted (the mod's recipes were broken). Two When Dungeons Arise advancements (Fishing Hut, Thornborn Towers) show up again.
