Description
Just to be clear, the name is a coincidence and it has nothing to do with the modpack "Age of Engineering", nor the mod "Bewitchment".
Welcome to Age of Bewitchment, a modpack where the world is your oyster and research is key. Through the study of various magic systems and use of magical equipment, nothing is impossible. If you are a lover of classic magic mods and are looking for a slightly more difficult experience than the default, look no further!
The world generation features a wide variety of biomes, and improved cave systems with rebalanced ore generation. Exploration is often rewarding, with many unique structures for you to explore and loot to find. Survival has also been rebalanced around the fact that you have access to an entire arsenal of numerous magic mods on your fingertips.
Not so fond of combat? Worry not, for you can create your very own spells and brews to level the playing field. Not really into mining? Well, you can always let fantastical bees do all the resource collection, or just plant a garden of precious metals. Less time spend on the field (or garden) means more time to study magic, or create the perfect spell.
To make things more interesting, and set Age of Bewitchment apart from similar modpacks, some exclusive content was added. Part of said content are four entirely new pages for the Thaumonomicon (4), many exclusive bee species based on different mods, new items and blocks (decorative and not), additional world generation structures, altered ore generation, and many goals for you to complete (through the Simple Achievements mod).
THIS MODPACK HAS REACHED THE FINAL STAGE OF ITS LIFE CYCLE! No more content updates will come out. Some users have reported certain recipes being incorrect or having issues, you can find scripts to fix those in the official discord server.
Nevermind the above, change of plans.
Age of Bewitchment comes with a special pre-installed, and pre-enabled resourcepack which replaces minor textures, and adds new paintings to BiblioCraft. This resourcepack also servers another, more interesting purpose - It changes the light maps of the overworld, and the Nether. But in order for the latter changes to take effect, you will have to manually install OptiFine. But of course, it's not necessary.
If you are experiencing performance issues, consider allocating up to 6GBs of RAM and no less than 4. Additionally you can try installing a more performant set of configurations for the pack which you can find here.
