Zombie Village 4.57.309 — release notes
What's new
- Professions now appear at their workstation. When a village creates or replaces a profession villager — a new farmer, fisherman, shepherd, cleric, and so on — it now spawns right at its job block (the composter, barrel, loom, etc.) instead of wherever it happened to be created. Kill a villager on a raid a thousand blocks away and its replacement still shows up at its own workstation, inside its own building.
Fixed
- Penned profession villagers stay put. A profession villager kept near its workstation (a shepherd in a fenced stable around its loom, a farmer at its composter) is no longer pulled out of its enclosure by the stuck-villager recovery system. Previously a villager that sat still for a while — common once its farm or pen was fully set up — could scaffold itself over the wall or teleport back to the well. It now stays where you put it, as long as it's near its workstation. (Villagers that are genuinely stuck somewhere else, or in danger of suffocating, are still rescued normally.)
- Replacement villagers no longer strand themselves. The two fixes above together close a long-standing annoyance: build a pen or stable around a workstation and the villager — and every future replacement — lives and works inside it, no hand-placing required. Works for both surface villages and catacombs, including after a Soul Well is mined and re-placed.
Requires / compatible with
- Minecraft 1.21.1
- NeoForge 21.1.224+
- Freedom Lib 0.10.1+ (required)
- ZV-Houses (required — supplies every building template)
- Spells & Spellcrafting (required)
- JEI (optional)
Migration notes
- None — drop-in update. Existing villages, villagers, Soul Wells, and stored items carry over unchanged. Existing profession villagers that were already stranded outside their pens will relocate to their workstation the next time they're replaced.
