Updates & Fixes in v1.18.2.4

  • Improved messaging related to breaking and placing blocks. Now each time you spend levels, the message includes the total levels that you've spent (good for tracking progress towards related advancements).
  • Updated bed functionality (again again!). Right clicking a bed now sets your respawn point (unless you're playing Hardcore) and puts you in a zombie torpor until dusk, with appropriate messaging. Along with previous fixes, this now allows for the rapid advancement of time of day without actually sleeping and without issues related to not sleeping (e.g. phantoms attacking the player all the time).

Known Issues

  • Major: Multiplayer untested
  • Minor: It has been reported that on rare occasions helmets may appear to be slightly repaired rather than damaged by being in the sun. (This is likely a server/client sync issue, i.e. damage previously recorded on the client wasn't properly synced to the server.)
  • Minor: Beds can't be used to change time of day
  • QOL: Spending levels due to mining or placing blocks lacks an auditory accompaniment
  • Cosmetic: Using bed lacks usual sleeping animation

Possible Future Additions

  • Add ability for Zombie Lords to recruit (i.e. tame) zombies, Skeleton Lords to recruit skeletons, etc.
  • Introduce better interoperability with other mods (e.g. config option might allow players to become zombified only as a result of events within "normal" gameplay, rather than all players starting as such)
  • Add custom start messages that add background and otherwise supplement the guidebook that players start with
