32x Mod Resources - Companion Mod
Important: If you did not come from the main resource pack page, please head there first! This mod is specifically designed to manage and control the 32x Mod Resources resource pack.
Description
This is the official companion mod for the 32x Mod Resources resource pack. It provides a user-friendly interface and powerful options to control everything about the pack.
The mod works by creating a "Virtual Resource Pack" in your active list. This virtual pack only contains the textures from the mods you have enabled in the config menu. This means you can just place the main, huge resource pack file in the "Available" list and let this mod handle the rest—no need to have the main pack active at all!
Things You Need to Know
- Updating the Pack: Every time you update the main resource pack, remember to delete the
cachefolder located inconfigs/32x-resource-manager. This ensures the mod recognizes the new textures. - Correct Setup: When using this mod, place the main
32X_Stylized_Mods_Resources.zipfile in the "Available Packs" list in-game, not the "Selected Packs" list. The mod will manage everything from there. - Reporting Limits: You can report one broken texture per hour. This is to prevent spam and ensure that all reports are meaningful and can be processed effectively.
- How to Report: Please only report textures that are genuinely broken or look very ugly. When you report a texture, it gets flagged to be reprocessed with different settings, which usually fixes the issue. Your reports directly help improve the pack for everyone, so thank you for your help!
Features
Base Configurations
Control the core settings of the mod. You can enable or disable the entire mod, enable reload resources after saving, and access all other features from one menu.
Mods Override
You get a list of all supported mods (by their namespace), allowing you to enable or disable all of their textures at once. Each mod also has sub-options to disable specific texture types (e.g., disable only blocks or only items).
Texture Blacklist
An incredibly useful feature! If you find a specific texture you don't like, you can "blacklist" it with the press of a key in-game. It will revert to its original texture without disabling the rest of the mod's textures, this needs reload but you can always let them in your next run or reload resources.
Use With Other Packs
While designed for 32x Mod Resources, you can technically use this mod to manage another resource pack. The pack must be a .zip file named exactly 32X_Stylized_Mods_Resources.zip. You can also merge multiple packs into one zip for the mod to manage.
Keybinds
All keybinds can be configured in the standard Minecraft Controls menu.
- Report Item: Reports the texture of the item you are currently holding.
- Report Block: Reports the texture of the block you are currently looking at.
- Blacklist Item: Blacklists the texture of the item you are currently holding.
- Blacklist Block: Blacklists the texture of the block you are currently looking at.
- Open Config: Opens the main settings screen for the mod.
Compatibility
The mod was built for Minecraft 1.20.1 but supports a range of versions from 1.19 to 1.21.4. I have personally tested the 1.20.1 version extensively in a 500+ modpack with no issues, and I also tested the mod in the other versions as well but not in a mod pack only with some mods in the resourcepack to test the mod's functionalty.
- Performance: The mod adds zero runtime processing and is very lightweight. The only memory it uses is to load the resource pack data (around 2MB).
- Reload Times: The time added to the resource pack reload screen depends entirely on how many textures you have enabled. If you disable everything, the reload time is zero. If you enable everything, it may add a few seconds, which is standard Minecraft behavior.
- Fabric Users: I'm sorry, but I am not developing Fabric mods at this time. However, the resource pack itself contains many textures for Fabric mods because I used Forgified Fabric and Sinytra Connector in my mod pack which contains near 100 fabric mods.
A Note for Developers
You may know that listResources function can cause extremely slow reload times in 1.20.1 if it's called recursively when implementing the interface. Many mods do this without realizing it. Rest assured, this mod was coded specifically to avoid that issue, ensuring the reload time for the mod remain as fast as possible.
for the resource pack updates use it's own page get it there, they will also be the only changes update because the main pack is huge and I don't want to make you download the pack again for 500 textures.
I originally made this mod and resource pack for my own custom modpack. If I get enough support, I might be able to finish the modpack faster and publish it for everyone to enjoy!
You can follow me for more mods and updates. If you want to support me in any way, I am very grateful—this stuff is really hard to make! :)
