VoxelCam 2.2.0
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
VoxelCam now runs on Minecraft 26.2. Nothing about the mod itself has changed — this release exists to follow Minecraft, which stopped obfuscating its code and rewrote how the interface is drawn.
Requirements
- Minecraft 26.2
- Fabric Loader 0.19.3+, Fabric API
- Java 25, the runtime the Minecraft launcher already ships with (no launcher changes needed)
Upgrading
2.2.0 will not load on 1.21.11, and 2.1.0 will not load on 26.2. Minecraft 26.1 was the first release with unobfuscated code, and mods built for either side of that line are not interchangeable. If you are staying on 1.21.11, keep 2.1.0.
Your screenshots are untouched by any of this — they are ordinary PNGs in your screenshots folder, and the manager reads whatever is there.
The camera button moved
26.2 added a Friends button to the title screen, next to the language and accessibility icons. The camera has joined that row rather than sitting off on its own beside Quit Game, and the row stays centred with four buttons in it the way it did with three.
Everything else is where it was. H opens the screenshot manager, F2 takes a screenshot,
Shift+F2 takes an oversized one, and /bigscreenshot still sets the size.
Under the hood
Yarn, the mapping set every Fabric mod was written against, stopped being published after 1.21.11 — Minecraft ships readable names now, so it is no longer needed. The mod moved to Mojang's own names, and its interface was rewritten for 26.x, which replaced immediate drawing with a model where screens describe themselves and are painted afterwards. The oversized capture needed the most care: the frame method it hooks was split in two, and the point where a finished frame is handed to the screen changed entirely.
None of that is visible in-game, which is the point.
Tests
This release adds the project's first test suites: 82 unit tests, plus four tests that drive a real Minecraft client and check the title screen button, the screenshot manager, sharing, and both ordinary and oversized capture. Both run in CI and have to pass before a jar is built.
