Description
Unusual End is a mod enhancing the End, by providing more diversity and content to the dimension, while trying to fit mostly Vanilla or mostly Modded End experiences.
The mod is open to suggestions, feedback and bug reports in the comment section or on my team's discord (link here)
-> 1.20.1 + is now compatible with End generation mods, sure as Nullscape and Endercon, but requieres Blueprint
Biomes Overview (1.20.1+) :
End Highlands
End Midlands are now home to new ressources. You'll find, scattered in the biome, patchs of vegetation and Raw Purpur (can be disabled in the config). In addition to new decoration block, you'll be able to convert its tile variation to regular Purpur Blocks, and use it as a regular stone for items sur as tools and furnaces
When shearing Chorus Flowers or Flowering Chorus Grass, you'll obtain Chorus Petals. When breaking Chorus, there is now a small probability for Endermites to appear.
Occasionally, you may find Chorus Cane, a bamboo-like plant that will allow you to obtain a small renewable access to wood. Chorus Cane Planks and Blocks can be converted into various decorative variations, especially by stripping Chorus Cane Planks. When growing, Chorus Cane will emit Flute tunes, property that can be used by crafting a Chorus Flute. Chorus Cane will grow until it reached a Blooming State, that'll stop its growth.
You may also encounter Firefly Nests in a Chorus Cane patchs. This piles of Chorus Cane Planks can be broken without angering Fireflies. The Ender Fireflies found nearby will be tamed by End Blob, and fight most Endermite-related entities. When eating an Ender Blob, they'll heal and produce occasional Firefly Eggs or Firefly Bulbs.
End Highlands and Main Island
End Highlands remain desert, but more dangerous than before. You might now rarely encounter in emptier places the Endstone Trappers, hiding in Infested End Stone.
You can spot it by its paler apparence, despite the similaritude to regular End Stone. This creatures can't be killed, and will bite your feets. However you can sneak to stay undetected, break the block to kill it, or capture the entity with an End Stone block.
Undead Enderlings will also fly around, as an aggressive counterpart to Endermen, making it more dangerous to navigate on bridges above the Void. Each time they are hurt, their ability to enter a spectral state will turn them invisible and grant them a larger attack reach for a few seconds, making them especially dangerous. *To prevent them from disrupting your Endermen farms, you can use a Citrine Candle, despawning nearby Undead Enderlings*.
Undead Enderlings will also occasionally spawn with Enderling Masks, that they can occasionally drop, a new helmet allowing you to look at Endermen without issues.
Gloopstone Lands & Midlands
Gloopstone Lands are chunks of land, distorded and covered in purple agglomerates, inhabited by Endermites, Enderblobs, Small Enderbulbs and Enderbulbs. Some of this entities will be able to inflict you with "Ender Infection", resulting in inflicting you with more debuffs (sure as periodical damages, random teleportation, etc.) It can be cured with Chorus Juice or Chorus Tea
Enderblobs are simply larger Endermites. They won't be attacked by Endermen. Small Enderbulbs are cubic Endermites, able to jump to attack or move around.
Enderbulbs are corrupted flying amalgations of Small Enderbulbs. When low on health, one of the eyes will close (planned for v2.1.4). They will shoot a ray at nearby players, granting themselves a Regeneration buff when hitting a target. This capacity can be used by players by crafting a Leeching Wand.
When killed, they'll explode, spliting in multiple Small Enderbulbs.
In the biome, you'll find lots of Endermite Eggs, in a Regular or Weak state. Regular ones will drop Weak ones when broken, while Weak ones will hatch instead. They'll get from the regular to weak stage, and weak stage to hatch when a player stand nearby. This process can be slowed down by sneaking or using the Invisibility effect.
When hatching or broken, they'll release 3 to 4 Endermites or Enderbulbs.
Plants will slow you down, especially Crystal Flowers that will make you nauseous on contact. They'll also periodically buff nearby Endermite-related monsters and inflict you Weakness.
Shiny Gloopstone can be broken for Shiny Crystals, gems with regenerative abilities, commonly found in the biome
Prismalite on the other end, found with Prismatic Gloosplate, is mostly found higher in the biome, in the floating islands part, and mostly used for devices related to speed and teleportation
Gloopy Urns, in ruins, can be broken for various loots (items and enchanted books related to the biome and mod). They'll also have a relatively high chance for them to contain an Endermite.
Warped Reef
The Warped Reef seems to be the result of a mutation, that probably evolved at some point into the Warped Forest that can now be found in the Nether. It's home to various entities, reminescent of aquatic creatures.
Bluks are simple fishs with poor sight, that can be hunted for food, but will fight back and gain temporary Speed and Strenght when doing so. Their meat will randomly grant Strenght and/or Blindness.
Boloks are more mysterious fishs, closely linked to the Warping Corruption. They can be lured with Warped Fungus. Interacting with a Bolok, by feeding him some blocks or plants will result in the creature "warping" this items. (More details in the "Bolok Trading" section)
Spunklers are discret warped counterparts to Shulkers, that'll easily knock you in the void if you touch them.
Glubs are more pacific entities, that can be lured with Warped Berries. Interacting with one will equip the Glub on your head, granting you Jump and Slow Fall buffs. They can be unequiped by Sneak-Right Clicking while targeting a block. They can be summoned by using a Warped Potion on a Carved Warped Squash
You can fish inside of ponds found in Warped Islands (or any body of water as long as you're in the biome), receiving items related it.
Warped Bubbles will break on collision, and push players in the direction they're looking at, allowing you to change your direction in the air.
At the bottom of the biome, you'll find crystals embedded in Warped Stone, made of Citrine.
Citrine is a crystal with magical abilities and purifying properties, that'll grow from Budding Citrine Blocks, like Amethyst. They'll emit particles when ready to be harvested.
Structures (1.20.1+) :
Special Entities
Draglings are new small entities, only found in structures. They'll randomly inflict you with Disruption, negating your block interaction reach, making you unable to interact with / destroy blocks.
Structures in Vanilla Biomes
The End House is a new common structure, that'll provide you with randomised rewards and challenge. It'll most of the time provide you with a map to the nearest Ancient End Tower
The Ancient End Tower contains loots and challenged for players with advanced gears. They are filled with deadly traps such as the Infused End Stone Tiles or Shulker Shooter
By using a Dragon Breath Bottle on the Altar at its top, players will be able to summon the Endstone Golem, a powerful boss that'll grant you the Golem Orb.
Flying End Ships are found flying above the Void. Instead of Elytras in an Item Frame, players will be able to find an Ancient Podium holding a Void Totem. It'll most of the time provide you with a map to the nearest End City.
Wanderer Islands are small houses inhabited by Wandering Traders, trading items from the mod and buying Chorus Fruits for Emeralds. They will also sell the Wandering Stew, a unique item allowing you to get back to the Overworld at any time.
Structures in the Warped Reef
You can find Warped Ships and Warped Station in the Warped Reef. Both contains Warped Chests, special chests that can be obtained by multiple players. When a player that didn't opened it before interact with it, the Chest will spit a few random items. Particles around the Warped Chests will indicate if the player can be opened. Items like the Warped Anchor and Warped Infusion can only be obtained this way.
Structures in Gloopstone Plains
Ruins and gloopstone piles can be found in the Gloopstone Plains, containing Gloopy Urns. Some of them, are inhabited by Endermites, leading to small underground rooms, full of Endermite eggs and Gloopy Urns
Items, Blocks and Feature Wiki (1.20+) :
Music
"The Great Abyss" and "Moog in Space 2" by Oh Eight (links in the "Credits" section) wil now occasionally play in the End
Advanced Blocks
- Ancient Podium : Used to display your items in a fancy way. Emits Redstone

- Purpur Tank : Double-chest sized storage block
- Building Inhibitor : Allows a form of primitive anti-grief. Fueled with Dragon Breath (1 bottle for 16 charges). When another player than the one that placed it gets near it, the device will trigger, consuming a charge and powering it for 10 minutes. While powered, the Inhibitor will inflict Disruption to all nearby players (except its placer), negating their block interaction reach
- Dragon Lamp : Emits particles
- Warped Chest : Can be obtained one time by multiple players
- Warped Bubble : Will pop on contact, and launch the player in the direction he's looking at. Can be walked on with Warped Boots
- Citrine Totem : When placed on (or under) a Citrine Pillar (forming an at-least 2 blocks tall totem with connecting patterns), the Totem will fertilize nearby vegetals
- Citrine Candle (v2.1.4+): One of 4 items can be "burned" in it to apply a special ability in a small radius around it. Chorus Petals will restore nearby players rest, preventing Phantoms from spawning. Warped Berries will make nearby Monsters and Players glow. Feathers will make nearby Phantoms burn. Shiny Crystals will despawn nearby Undead Enderlings

- Healing Lantern : Will grant Regeneration to nearby players. Can be placed on the side of blocks.
Boloks Trading
Interacting with a Bolok, by feeding him some blocks or plants will result in the creature "warping" this items. This can be found in JEI as "Bolok Trading".
-> It is recommanded to hold a Warped Fungus to lure Boloks near your
-> You can capture a Bolok in a bucket to trade with him later
Some exclusive enchanted books can be obtained via Boloks. By trading him any enchanted book, while having at least 15 levels on you, Boloks will spit your book back but with a random level 1 "Bolok Enchantment"
Bolok Enchantments (Bolok Trading)
- Bolok's Fury : Deal large extra damages to ennemies at full health or above base full health (absorption, health boost)
- Bolok's Head : Drastically reduce velocity damages (hitting a wall with your head with elytras)
- Bolok's Wings : Damage nearby entities when flying fast enough with Elytras (speed is indicated by extra particles)
Weapons & Tools
- Bouncy Dagger : Grant extra knockback
- Enderblob Shield : Knock attackers away
- Leeching Wand : Hold Right-Click when shooting. Shoot magic projectiles. Damaging a target with it grants you with Regeneration
- Pearlescent Tools and Weapons : Netherite alternative, grant extra attack and block reach
- Warped Anchor : Found in Warped Chest. Slow but very powerful, inflict the target with Heaviness. Clear Levitation when in Offhand
- Warped Spear : Grant extra attack reach
Advanced Items
- Wandering Pearl : Slightly faster than Ender Pearls, with a slightly further throwing distance. Teleports near your landing point, at the nearest safe location if possible. This can be used to get back on a platform from below it
- Spectral Cloth : Grant Spectral Stride (slightly lighter and faster) and Advanced Invisibility (able to see yourself in third person) when consumed
- Floating Pouch : Propels you upward. Work as a way to move around when using Elytras
- Spirit Mask : Allow you to look at Endermen without angrying them nor having on Overlay on screen. Double the amount of Draglings summoned with the Pearlescent Ring
- Totem of the Void : Teleports you high up with Slow Falling when you fall in the Void
- Wandering Stew : Only sold by Wandering Traders found in Wanderer Islands. Teleports you back the the Overworld when consumed in another dimension. Grant Invisibility in drinked in the Overworld
- Golem Orb : Grant a chance to create a Shockwave when hit, damaging nearby entities. Having multiple Orbs of different types don't make the chance to trigger it more likely, but will instead apply all effects to the victims when the Shockwave is triggered
- Chorus Flute : Play a random short Flute melody. Can be tuned with a variety of common ressources to only play a specific melody
- Crystal Catalyst : Used on Beacons, Conduits or Pearlescent Infusers to select a type of buff. When a category is selected by interacting with one of this blocks, using the Catalyst will grant for a short period random sets of buffs related to this block. Consuming buffs this way will also cost a minor amount of experience. Renaming the Catalys with a name containing "Beacon", "Infuser" or "Conduit" will grant it a special texture
- Pearlescent Ring : Summon a Tamed Dragling to fight for you when, under a cooldown, you hit an entity while having the ring in a Curio slot or Offhand. Use with a Spirit Mask to summon 2 draglings each time
- Pearlescent Mirror : Teleports you to your Spawn point when used. Can be linked to a Teleportation Anchor to teleport to it instead
- Healing Lantern : Heal nearby players
- Shiny Charge : Explose when launched, dealing low damages to Animals and Players, medium damages to Monsters, and large damages to Arthropods and Undeads
- Warped Potion : Use on a Carved Warped Squash to summon a Glub. Used to brew special potions
- Warped Brew : Grant a stacking effect of Warped Tenacity for each Brew drinked. Each level grant Armor and Knockback Resistance buffs at the cost of Speed and Jump height. Stacking multiples will at some points grant additional debuffs
- Warped Ballon : Used as a Pokeball to capture entities in a Bubble. This Bubble can be leashed (and punched but with limited health). Villagers and animals can be captured, but monsters and entities with a too large height-width ratio can't.
The Bubble can receive splash potion effect, such as Regeneration, and be used in quite creative ways. Using a knockback weapon while capturing yourself in a bubble will allow you to direct the bubble while flying at a constant height
Enchantments
- Arcane Recovery : Recharge items with a loading time faster
- Benevolence : Turn the Leeching Wand in a Healing tool rather than a weapons. Heals your target instead of you, and create Regeneration clouds when hitting the ground
- Bonding : Heal your nearby tamed pets when regenerating from the Leeching Wand
- Everlasting : Items don't naturally despawn
- Joust : Grant extra attack speed and strength when using the Warped Spear while on a mount
Pearlescent Infuser
The Pearlescent Infuser is a powerful block, allowing you to receive potion effects. To use it, you'll have to infuse gem, that'll be consumed to charge it. Each charge will equate to 5 minutes of a corresponding potion effect.
- Charges can be consumed 1 at a time, granting 5 minutes of their effect, by 4 for 20 minutes, or 8 for 40 minutes.
- To be consumed, a gem buff requiere the Infuser to be placed on at least 4 blocks of its ore, in a 3x3 radius below it. Pearlescent Alloy blocks will count as a block in each category of gem, meaning that all buffs can be consumed with simply 4 Pearlescent Alloy Block.
- Shiny Crystals will grant Health Boost II
- Prismalite Gems will grant Swift Strikes, enhancing your attack speed
- Citrine Chunks will grant Serenity, an effect granting situational buffs when the player is in danger or debuffed. Each time it's triggered however, Serenity's remaining duration will be divided by 2. Some of those contexts include drowning granting Water Breathing, Fire granting Fire Resistance, Starving feeding you, Low Health granting Regeneration, Fall Damages being canceled, etc..
FAQ (Compats, Configuration, etc) :
I'm not sure if i should play this mod, i don't like X feature, and this thing generating in the End Highlands. Is there a config to the mod ?
-> Give it a try and take a look at the config file. A lot of stuff is configurable, and generation changes affecting vanilla biomes can be mostly toggled. "unusualend-common" can be found in the "config" folder, and will provide you with the ability to edit a lot of aspects, from cooldowns of some items to disabling some generation tweaks sure as the addition of Raw Purpur Patchs and End Highland Flora.
Is this mod working with X other End mod ?
-> The is no known incompatibility with other end mods, and mods like The Outer End, Endless Biomes, End's Phantasm or Enlightened have been tested multiples times. The only issue you might encounter with some mods is Unusual End mods biomes not spawning (which is explained in the next question)
Any recommendation to play with this mod ?
-> It is heavily recommended to play with JEI for the additional informations it provides and recipes display.
Unusual End - Tinkering Additions is an addon that could be useful for Tinker Construct fans.
Also, End's Phantasm and Endless Biomes are great complements.
Is this mod adding some compatibilities ?
-> Yes, the mod is adding cross-compatibility with some other mods to fit in modpacks :
- Curios (Some items will work from Curios slots)
- Create (Additional recipes and minor compats)
- Farmer's Delight (Food compats)
- Ender's Delight (Minor compats)
- JEI (Added recipes informations & additional "notes" for some features)
- JEED (Effect descriptions)
I'm playing with an older version of the mod, and BYG / Nullscape / a generation mod and the biomes aren't spawning ? Why and how can i fix it ?
It only happens with older versions, but some End generation mods can override vanilla generation and instead rely on a file of their own to control it. Since this files usually only take in consideration their mod's biomes and vanilla biomes, Unusual End biomes aren't taken in consideration by default. If you can't find them, then it mean you'll have to manually add them to the files managing biomes generation created by this mods.
> For Nullscape, Endercon or other datapack based generation, open the mod .jar file (with 7zip or an equivalent) and go to data/minecraft/dimension/the_end.json
> For BYG or non-datapack based mods modifying the generation, open your modpack folder, and go to config/the_mod to look for a file managing end generation (config/byg/end-biomes.json in the case of BYG)
All you have to do then is to copy settings for one of the existing biomes or replace one with the name Unusual End biome in order for the biome to generate correctly (need to tweak values if another biome got the same ones)
- "unusualend:gloopstone_lands" should copy the settings of an Highland biome
- "unusualend:gloopstone_midlands" should copy the settings of an Midlands biome and isn't requiered (i recommend you not generating it)
- "unusualend:warped _reef" should copy the settings of a Small End Islands biome
Wait, this mod is made with Mcreator ?
-> Yes, it's mainly made with Mcreator, but not only. A lot of features were manually edited to allow me specific more advanced stuff (sure as the Podium's ability to render items, or animations not depending on Geckolib). A lot of things were also manually done or tweaked without it, and overall i'm more used to it than most other users, so it's very unlikely that you'll encounter common mcreator issues.
It doesn't mean that i don't have any java knowledge, so if you encounter an issue, please report it, instead of, like some, assuming that i couldn't fix them, leaving issues unpatched !
